Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 1/13/25 – Southern California is bracing for yet another Santa Ana windstorm, with the National Weather Service issuing a Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) warning for parts of the region. Fortunately, this storm has a significant easterly component and a much weaker northerly component, meaning the San Gabriel Valley will be spared from the strongest winds. Locally, expect conditions to remain calm with light winds.
Here’s what to expect:

- Winds will intensify late tonight, peaking around 8 AM tomorrow before subsiding in the evening.
- For those in high-risk areas like Santa Clarita, Porter Ranch, Filmore, Acton, Camarillo, Ventura, and the eastern Inland Empire, this storm will hit hardest in your location. If you’ve evacuated to these areas, it’s recommended to return to the San Gabriel Valley, where you’ll be shielded from the storm’s effects.
What’s not affected:
- Altadena will see no wind impact from this event, and winds will remain absent from the San Gabriel Valley during subsequent rounds of winds on Tuesday and Thursday. While these winds help clear toxic air pollution, conditions will remain dangerously unhealthy at night, so be cautious if you’re outdoors.
Stay safe and take care as these winds make their way through Southern California.
