Whether we admit it or not, entertainers may turn to vices to cope with life’s pressures or embrace a free-spirited lifestyle. Some use drugs or alcohol, engage in risky sexual behavior, or gamble recreational without immediate consequences; for others, these behaviors develop into addictions that can become fatal. What begins innocently can gradually take control before a person realizes they are addicted. The good news is that raising awareness and supporting one another through healthy coping strategies, therapy, and medication can help prevent future overdose deaths.
I was invited to an Activation by brand “OSIER WELLNESS” on August 31 for “National Overdose Awareness Day”. ONLY JOSIE KNOWS got to go behind the scenes and find out some very helpful tools to help people suffering with addictions and enjoy the activities, food, and products that are self-nourishing for my mind, body and soul. It was a good day in LA, for the last couple days of summer. It was a reset to welcome September.
Osier Wellness is a beauty and wellness brand founded by Cheree Ashley, who has worked in the substance-abuse recovery field and has been in recovering for 14 years to “Opiates”
The brand connects skincare, self-care, and recovery, with the idea that rebuilding your life can also mean rebuilding your confidence and taking care of yourself.
Its current products include Korean skincare, such as:
- OSIER Comeback Cleanser
- OSIER Balance Toner
- OSIER Brighter Days Vitamin C Serum
- OSIER The Recovery Ceramide Cream
The company products are clean, vegan and cruelty-free.
Osiers stands for the “Willow Tree” meaning new beginnings.
Come with me “Only Josie Knows” (BTS) and see this FABULOUS, EMPOWERING, ENCOURAGING EVENT. And all the invigorating brands and people I got to meet.
The interviews with Cheree’s mom (Devona) and grandmother (Yvonne), really touched my heart. Their message about the recreational use of drugs will make you never want to try Drugs.
The main message I got from “National Overdose Awareness Day” is that no matter how many times you fall of the ban wagon in recovery, we are human, we make mistakes, were growing, we are always learning, it’s about turning that mistake into a lesson and making improvements and just remember tomorrow is a new day. If there is a breath, there is life.
There are many programs that can help people with Addictions. Cheree’s facilities are Bright Future Recovery, Avila Heights Recovery and Robles Ranch Mental Health. They take Network Insurances, most private carriers and work with medical in local counties. For people with no insurance or with no funds there are state funded programs like “Delancey Street Foundations”. Don’t worry Cheree will always find you help, just ask her directly. She is a great addiction-recovery /intervention specialist.
The Hollywood Times would like to thank “OSIER WELLNESS” for inviting us to their activation.
