New York City, NY (The Hollywood Times) 04/04/2026- As streaming platforms continue to reshape the film industry, landing a spot on Amazon marks a significant milestone for emerging and independent filmmakers. No Strings is a suspenseful drama featuring three women who fight to save their marriages but are tempted by an untraceable app called No Strings. There, they find themselves facing far more than they expected. With a 4.7-star rating, this film is garnering notable attention and steadily gaining popularity on the platform. India Williams, who both wrote and directed the film, thanked her fans and supporters for their ongoing encouragement and affection.
“No matter the platform, it is always exciting to see your work out for public consumption. Seeing my film on Amazon, I was personally overjoyed, because I have other movies out that did not get picked up on Amazon. This accomplishment is now added to my resume, and I am thrilled with all the reviews that everyone has posted that boosted the film’s ratings. The movie just came out in February so I can’t wait to see where it goes from here,” expressed Williams.
Executive producer Kiki Williams added her appreciation as well and what this success meant for her.
“As an Amazon Prime Member, I regularly review films available on the platform. I appreciate the opportunity to view new releases, and I would like to express my gratitude for our film being prominently featured at the top of the list in these categories,” said Kiki Williams.
As I talked more with India about how she created this story dynamic and how she interwoven these women’s lives together, she explained how this story was originally supposed to be a book. As an author, India created the characters’ lives around life examples and narrative stories.
“I have been married for some time now and have skin in the game. So, my friends and acquaintances know that it’s not all fairy tales when you have been in it for so long. I knew that these stories were going to be interesting and when I added in the twists and turns you didn’t see coming, now I had a drama. It just so happened that I started to get into film at this time, so the film came first. I would bounce ideas off my friends to create a more intense drama. After I shared my story idea with Kiki and she expressed her support, I knew I had a winner,” explained Williams.
“I believe there is a lot of over-saturation right now in the industry,” expressed Kiki. “A lot of topics are very similar so it’s like you’re watching the same movie in a different way, but I felt No Strings was very unique. We have seen movies about infidelity and about feeling like you don’t have a voice in your marriage, the elements that No Strings brings, but they weren’t in this way. I felt that this angle would resonate with women and men in different ways bringing a more familiarity to the project for the audience.”
Making a feature film in nine days is stressful, with many elements to coordinate. If any part falls behind schedule, it can quickly turn into a nightmare.
“I work in this type of environment every day as a designer, but this set was very different. Having to work with the directors, actors, and crew while helping with the set design all at one time was a bit challenging. I got to see the different ways that were most effective to make the set run smoothly. I enjoyed the process but there were moments when it was rough, and it came down to keeping everything organized and making sure everyone knew what was expected of them,” explained Kiki.
India, a native of Detroit, chose the city as the ideal setting for her film to authentically highlight her heritage.
“Anytime I can represent where I am from, I will most certainly do that,” said Williams. “I love that the city is very diverse and every time I go back, I’m impressed with the changes that are happening in and around the city.”
Numerous movies aim to deliver a message to the audience, and India feels that her film offers several important lessons.
“Communication is key in a marriage. Without communication a whole lot of things could go wrong. I want more conversations to happen between spouses, because I feel that if there is more open communication then many of these stories would have ended differently. Ultimately, I want the audience to see the dangers of online dating as well. There are too many stories that you hear about on the news of younger and older women getting into situations that could have been avoided,” said Williams.
“For me, there are different levels of what is considered to be an ideal relationship. It might not look the same for everybody, but it might work for some. Therefore, I feel that not comparing your relationships to others is very important to this film. Everyone has a different love language, and it can be misinterpreted when looking at other relationships,” explained Kiki.
