Jorie Blake Rosen might have just turned 11, but her success in the Entertainment Industry has been going on for years.
Jorie started her career in the world of musical theater. At only 3 years old hit the stage as Abu in the Disney Musical “Aladdin.” She continued working in regional productions of musical theater and dove into the world of TV/Film around the age 7.
In the TV/Film World, Jorie has worked on many projects. A few most recent titles include the films: The French Cowboy, Birds Bee’s and Threes and Kinship. She also filmed an Episode of the ABC show Home Economics and is currently just premiered on Season 2 of the Disney+ TV show Big Shot in which she plays the younger version of John Stamos daughter, Little Emma. Jorie is also slated to start work on a new film this winter.
It was during the Pandemic in which Jorie also developed a love for songwriting. She was very close to booking a Broadway Show, when Covid hit. The loss of an amazing opportunity, plus the world changing led to this young 8 year journaling down her feelings. Jorie at one point decided to turn these feelings into lyrics in which they became songs.
Her first single, “Make Your Own Music,” was produced in Spring 2021. She wrote the song to inspire others to follow their passion in life. Go Make Your Own Music, find your own voice and do what you love. The song was a big success and inspired her to keep writing. Jorie recently released her second song, “#mytime.” This song has a theme that will resonate with both kids and adults – bullying. Jorie says, “I wrote this song to inspire everyone. Every person out there should feel free to celebrate who they are and their accomplishments, don’t let bullies make you feel worthless. I want everyone to find their own voice in this world and do what they love. Let this be your time to shine!”
Jorie was recently recognized for her Talent by the Young Artists Awards in which she was won the award for Best Youth Actress in a Music Video. Her talent was also noticed recently by Aurally Records, which is powered by Sony Music who signed her for a distribution deal.
Jorie uses her music to raise money for causes and charities that are important to her. She pairs each of her new songs with charities through the non- profit organization, Play it Forward. She donated profits from ‘Make Your Own Music’ to the Make a Wish Foundation, and has worked with Stomp Out Bullying for her new song, ‘#mytime.’
Jorie has a few more songs she is currently working on and is hoping to release her first album at the beginning of the year!
Jorie is using her art to make a difference in the world already, and she doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Go check on Jorie on the Disney+ TV Show Big Show and you can find her music on all streaming stations.
