Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 8/08/25 – The 1st Annual LYNX Lesbian Short Films Fest roars onto the scene with a mission: to uplift authentic, bold, and radically inclusive lesbian narratives. Set to premiere August 9, 2025, at the Frida Kahlo Theater in Central LA.
This inaugural festival is a call to filmmakers around the world to submit shorts that celebrate lesbian identity in all its vast, intersectional power—particularly stories centering BIPOC lesbian characters, including cis, trans, and non-binary identities.
“We created LYNX to carve out a space where lesbian stories—especially those from communities often pushed to the margins—can thrive, connect, and be seen,” said Cin Rivera, co-founder of LYNX. “This festival is for us, by us.”
Submission Guidelines:
Short films between 10-20 minutes for less.
Should feature at least one BIPOC lesbian character (cis, trans, or non-binary).
Open to all filmmakers, regardless of orientation or identity.
Films can be in any genre, as long as they align with the festival’s mission of celebrating lesbian narratives.
8–10 films will be selected and showcased on August 9, 2025, in a live screening event that promises to reflect the dynamic breadth of our lesbian communities.
Meet the Judges:
Alex Banx – Experimental artist, journalist, and cultural curator.
