LOS ANGELES, CA — The LA Punk Museum, founded in 2011 by original scene fixture Tequila Mockingbird, announces a groundbreaking partnership with the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles for “Alle gegen Alles. Punk@50 — A Transatlantic Celebration of Subculture, Protest, and Self-Determination.” Running from August 17 to October 11, 2026, this highly immersive pop-up experience serves as a direct counter-narrative to corporate, commercialized retrospectives, celebrating 50 years of raw punk culture through a strictly authentic, community-driven lens.
While corporate venues buy up artifacts to recreate the past, Alle gegen Alles brings the living history of the movement directly to the public. Hosted and curated by Tequila Mockingbird, the pop-up features rare archival installations alongside an underground, cross-genre broadcasting mix that fully integrates dark wave, Goth Batcave, black metal, and the LA Punk Museum’s own “VAMPYR” project. The exhibition subverts traditional gallery spaces, utilizing a distinct “Punk Goethe” aesthetic—mixing classic European subversion with local street-level grit.
“Punk is, and has always been, about absolute personal freedom and recording your own culture rather than waiting for commercial permission,” says Tequila Mockingbird. “This project belongs to the community that lived it, created it, and continues to push its boundaries.”
The multi-week event features an exclusive, interactive lineup of programming designed to keep the living history of punk collaborative, localized, and impossible to mass-produce:
- August 20, 2026: Live radio podcast broadcast on-site with Annett Scheffel in partnership with dublab radio.
- August 27, 2026 (6:30 PM – 9:30 PM): Official Exhibition Opening and Gala celebration.
- September 9, 2026 (6:30 PM – 9:30 PM): “Women in Punk”—A live, moderated panel discussion focusing on the trailblazing women who defined their own terms within the subculture.
- September 30, 2026 (6:30 PM – 10:00 PM): Closing Event panel discussion and live listening session with Thomas Venker.
By pairing the historical preservation of the LA Punk Museum with the avant-garde transatlantic dialogue of the Goethe-Institut, Alle gegen Alles proves that true subculture cannot be bought, franchised, or trailing behind a corporate trends map.
