TAVO and Lucy Pet Foundation Join Forces with Prominent LA Institutions to Save Lives
Los Angeles, CA – On Saturday, December 21, the LA Dodgers team up with Los Angeles County Animal Care Centers to save the lives of shelter dogs in need. Approximately 100 dogs from all seven shelters will be having a ball at Dodger Stadium, hoping to find their forever home in time for the holidays.
Dodger legend Steve Garvey, Sopranos actress Drea de Matteo and Emmy award-winning host of Lucky Dog and MasterClass dog trainer Brandon McMillan will be in attendance cheering on the four-legged players who are looking to score a walk-off win with their new home team.
“It’s been an unforgettable season of championship baseball but there’s no greater victory than helping an animal in need,” states Garvey. “We hope as many people as possible can show up to celebrate this important event and give these MVP dogs their forever homes.”
“To be a part of this all-star team of animal lovers is the best holiday present we can imagine,” states Joey Herrick, founder of Lucy Pet Foundation. “The most important thing is for us to unite and get these dogs adopted so they don’t become a statistic.”
The event lineup includes small, medium and large mutts as well as purebred dogs arriving from Agoura, Baldwin Park, Carson, Castaic, Downy, Lancaster and Palmdale shelters who are eager for a warm home and a family to love.
“We are thrilled to be hosting this event and deeply appreciative of the Dodgers organization and their partnership,” states DACC Director Marcia Mayeda. “Any opportunity to help find homes for more animals is invaluable, and we expect this event to make a significant impact in getting animals out of care centers and into loving homes, just in time for the holiday season.”
Adopters at the event will receive a free bag of Lucy Pet Food as well as a free impact-tested pet car seat or travel crate from TAVO.
“We are proud to support LA County Animal Care Centers this holiday season,” states TAVO Global President Brad Bickley. “Keeping pets safe is at the heart of what we do and what better way to carry this out than to partner with Lucy Pet Foundation in this event.”
It’s Pawfect and Hollywood Mobile Grooming will also be on-site to make sure every newly-adopted dog goes home looking like a star!
