Key West, FL (The Hollywood Times) 5/16/26 – My recent trip to Alexander’s Guesthouse in Key West was exactly the kind of escape I needed, laid-back, welcoming, and full of that magical island energy Key West does so well.
From the moment we arrived at Alexander’s Guesthouse, the atmosphere felt warm and friendly. The property was beautifully maintained, peaceful, and incredibly inviting. One of the highlights each day was the breakfast and happy hour, both were magnificent. The breakfasts were fresh and plentiful, while happy hour created a fun social vibe where guests could relax, mingle, and enjoy the tropical surroundings. The staff made everyone feel at home, and the overall experience perfectly captured the charm and inclusivity that make Key West such a beloved destination.
We also enjoyed the Sunset Sail Key West Harbor Tour for two. Watching the famous Key West sunset from the water was absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and a relaxing breeze. The only downside for me personally was that I had hoped for a slightly more LGBTQ+ adult-oriented atmosphere. There were quite a few children onboard, and I would have enjoyed a more distinctly gay social crowd to match the island’s famously vibrant LGBTQ+ culture. Still, the scenery and overall experience were lovely. We did see many dolphins though.
Dinner at Seven Fish was another standout of the trip. The food was exceptional, fresh seafood, creative dishes, and excellent service in an intimate setting that truly lived up to its reputation. It was the perfect dinner spot to wrap up an evening in paradise.
Overall, the trip offered the ideal mix of relaxation, good food, beautiful sunsets, and island charm. Key West continues to be one of those special places that feels both festive and restorative at the same time.
