Following the unveiling of Fran Drescher’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Donelle Dadigan (Founder/President) of the Hollywood Museum gathered with special guests at a private VIP reception (Exhibit opens to the public on Oct 1st, 2025), as they pay homage to the life and career of Fran Drescher with their latest exhibit to celebrate her Hollywood Walk of Fame star unveiling and her birthday.
And the living stars came out for it. On the red carpet welcome into the Hollywood Museum we got to talk to Shari Belafonte, Joely Fisher, Frances Fisher, Donna Reed, Renee Taylor, Nicole Tom, Madeline Zima, Donna Dixon, Ray Abruzzo, Michele Hurd, Kate Linder, Lee Purcell, Roslyn Kind and of course a big congratulations to the birthday woman, Fran Drescher when she arrived in signature teleport print dress that showed off the star that she is.

She accepted an award from the city of Los Angeles. Thanked her guests and media and fans and let us know her gratitude was beaming.
Barbara Streisand once said of Fran Drescher, “Wow, there’s a lot more to you than just that laugh! “ And boy was she right! Two time Emmy and Golden Globe nominee as well as two time NY Times best selling author, Fran Drescher is known to most as the lovable Nanny Fran fine from the Sony CBS sitcom hit that ran for six seasons. However, she has been playing diverse characters in films and television for 5 decades. From mama in “Ragtime,” Connie in “Saturday night fever,” Bobby Fleckman in “spinal tap, to the soon to be released Marty supreme” starring Timothée Chalamet , Fran is known for playing relatable woman who touch your heart and your funny bone. Her characters are always unique, relatable, and vulnerable, which makes fans feel like they know her and that she is family. An approachable star! She never disappoints and after 50 years of entertaining us. Fran became the president of the largest entertainment union SAG-AFTRA! She fearlessly led the union through a long, tough labor strike, and with her unique approach to negotiating with a brilliant team behind her they walked away with a billion deal . Not bad for the flashy girl from flushing.

Fran has worked with great directors like Milos Foreman, Francis Ford Coppola, and Rob Reiner. She has starred opposite leading men, such Dan Aykroyd, Robin Williams, and Timothy Dalton, to name a few. We also want to say thank you for the support of the exhibit sponsors, such as COZI TV, SONY Pictures, SAG/AFTRA and Cancer Schmancer.
Fran is the founder and visionary of the nonprofit Cancer Schmancer which focuses on causation of disease and instituting radical lifestyle change to prevent or reverse illness. Annually, she curates the Fran Drescher Master Class Health Summit in support of Cancer Schmancer. This life-changing educational experience streams live all over the world and remains available as a free Edu-Series. She is no stranger to D.C. and was written up in the Washingtonian as one of the top five celebrity lobbyists. Fran successfully got the gynecologic cancer education and awareness act passed by unanimous consent, a feat that earned her two mentions in the congressional record and the appointment of Public Diplomacy Envoy for Health with the US State Department.

In September 2021, Fran was elected national president of SAG-AFTRA, the largest entertainment labor union in the world and a proud member of the AFL-CIO. Currently she is lighting a fire with her usual flair for AMFA, the American Music Fairness Act, and PATPA, the Performing Arts Tax Parity Act, as well as the CROWN Act and Violence Against Women Act.
