April 25–27, 2025

Disney’s movie magic transcends race, skin color, gender identity and even species from mouse to man.  Disney’s music runs the gamut from soulful ballads to whimsical ditties. Combine the two with the voices of the Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus and you get a memorable night of an emotional rollercoaster titled “Disney Pride in Concert”.

I couldn’t imagine a better show to end the 25th season of PSGMC.  And lucky you, there are still seats available this weekend.  The chorus has really come of age and stepped up its production value and quality of performances.  That’s why a recently-announced move to The Plaza Theatre is such a great graduation for PSGMC.  Now we need the community to support it in a bigger way.  (That’s you!)

Gay Mens’ Choruses were formed in the late 70s and early 80s in our major cities, but have only been a part of our LGBTQ+ history since 1999. Not only has PSGMC entertained us, they have supported our Safe Schools program, conducted food and toy drives and supported anti-bullying efforts.

The impact that the chorus has had on each other’s lives and on their families are profound and told in vignettes from members interspersed throughout the show.  These “story moments” tell of love, loss, and connection.

The show ends with a fitting song for our current political climate from The Hunchback of Notre Dame:

Someday
Life will be fairer
Need will be rarer
And greed will not pay
Godspeed
This bright millennium
Let it come
Wish upon the moon
One day, someday…Soon
