Denver, CO (The Hollywood Times) 7/6/26 – On the electrifying evening of June 25, 2026, Landmark’s historic Mayan Theatre in Denver was buzzing with excitement as the action-comedy film HEAVY WEAPON made its grand debut.
A bold, high-energy homage to pulse-pounding grindhouse classics, HEAVY WEAPON delivers an exhilarating double-feature experience filled with suspense, action, comedy, and larger-than-life characters. Audiences were treated to two thrilling tales: The Overshadow Parables, a suspense-driven story with a dark edge, and Shoot From The Hip: Rise of The Phantom, an action-packed comedy bursting with attitude. Both films were directed by the talented Jimmy Drain.
The film features a dynamic ensemble cast, including the multifaceted Jimmy Drain, charismatic Erika Monet Butters, Natasha Coppola-Shalom, Mohawk Bob Bagnall, Brittany Murata, Aeon Cruz, and multi-award-winning actress Dawna Lee Heising. Action film icon Vernon Wells, beloved for his unforgettable roles in Commando and Weird Science, also joins the stellar lineup, adding even more firepower to the production.
Packed with intense action, razor-sharp comedy, and grindhouse flair, HEAVY WEAPON is a wild ride from start to finish. The film’s electrifying soundtrack, crafted by Adrian Croom, features music by Scifidelic, Heart Shaped Zombie’s energetic track “Jokers,” and Mohawk Bob’s breakthrough rap video “Dreamz on Deck.”
