Gregg T. Daniel Shines A Light On The Infamous LA Riots With New Play “TWILIGHT: LOS ANGELES, 1992”

Hollywood, CA (The Hollywood Times) 02/23/2023 – Gregg Daniel is an African American actor born in Brooklyn, New York. Over the course of his long career, Gregg has acted in over 100 roles in film and television, such as his roles in 2018’s Truth or Dare and his role as Reverend Daniels in HBO’s True Blood. His many roles led him to have an experience in every genre you could think of.

Along with this, he has a successful career as an accomplished theater director; winning countless awards and accolades for his work on Kwame Kwei-Armah’s Elmina’s Kitchen, which also won the NAACP Award for “Best Ensemble” in 2013. Gregg also won the NAACP Theatre Award for Best Director. As of recently, Gregg directed In the Upper Room at the Denver Center for Performing Arts, as well as landed a key role in the upcoming film titled ImPossible, directed by Seckeita Lewis.

With the upcoming 30th anniversary of the infamous Los Angeles Riots, “Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992” captivates its audience once again by retelling the story of the uproar in the days following the acquittal of the police officers in the Rodney King trial.

This will be a fresh take on the historic and revered play, reimagined for a cast of five performers, originally performed solo by Anna Deavere Smith.
