Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 2/21/25 – The opening ceremonies for the Filming Italy Los Angeles festival took place on the evening of Wednesday, February 19th at the DGA Theater located at 7920 W. Sunset Boulevard. The ceremonies heralded three exciting days of Italian film events held at various locations in Los Angeles. Here is the complete schedule.
At the ceremonies festival director Tiziana Rocca spoke about the mission of Filming Italy LA to build bridges between the Italian and American film industries. She then gave various awards and pens to actors Zoe Saldana, Dolph Lundgren, Carlos Diehz, Billy Zane, and Alec Baldwin and directors Marco Perego. and Gabriele Muccino.Perego’s film DOVECOTE starring Zoe Saldana and Muccino’s film HERE NOW starring Elena Kampouris were both screened and discussed. Perego and Saldana are cross-cultural spouses who collaborate on film projects. Muccino’s film was inspired by acclaimed Italian American director Martin Scorsese’s dark comedy AFTER HOURS.
This was the 10th edition of FILA. Tiziana Rocca worked with the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles in partnership with Audiovisual Producer Association under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles and in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency.
