Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 10/2/25 – With so much happening in Los Angeles this year, it’s no wonder Angelenos are craving a quick and refreshing getaway. Mexico’s Nayarit region, full of sun-kissed beaches, magical towns, and rich cultural traditions, may be just the escape they’re looking for. And now, thanks to Volaris Airlines, the journey just got easier.

Volaris recently launched its first-ever nonstop route between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Tepic, the capital of Nayarit. It’s more than just a flight, it’s the first international service to land in Tepic, marking a historic moment for the region.
“This new route responds to a growing demand from travelers in Southern California, especially the Mexican community, who want to reconnect with their roots, visit family, or explore new destinations,” said Jorge Roberto García Rojas, Director of Distribution and Market Development at Volaris.
The inaugural flight was celebrated with joy, music, and a true sense of Mexican hospitality. “There was a real sense of pride and excitement onboard, and that atmosphere of care and celebration is something we strive to deliver every day,” García Rojas added.
Volaris now connects L.A. with 12 nonstop destinations across Mexico and Central America, bringing its mission to “democratize the skies” closer to travelers than ever.
Juan Enrique Suárez del Real del Tostado, Nayarit’s Minister of Tourism, says the state is ready to welcome travelers with “open arms and boundless experiences.”
Beyond the famed Riviera Nayarit and its luxury Punta Mita resorts, Nayarit offers a wealth of activities: from surfing the waves in Sayulita to paragliding over the Ceboruco Volcano. The region is also building a strong profile as a destination for sports tourism, with events planned to highlight its outdoor adventure potential.
Two campaigns are leading the charge: “Awaken Paradise” (Despierta el Paraíso), focused on Riviera Nayarit’s blend of luxury and natural beauty, and “México por descubrir” (Mexico to Discover), inviting travelers to explore beyond the beaches, into the state’s cultural and ecological heart.
“Our goal is for each visitor to discover a facet of Nayarit that deeply connects them with its cultural and ecological wealth,” said Suárez.
Whether travelers want luxury, boutique charm, or coastal vibes, Nayarit offers a perfect match.
