Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 9/11/25 – Hollywood turned its spotlight on fashion on September 4th as designer and CEO Maxie J. celebrated a decade of her powerhouse womenswear brand, Ellaé Lisqué, with a glamorous anniversary show at Avalon Hollywood. The evening was more than just a runway, it was a celebration of resilience, creativity and a woman who turned six dresses into a movement.
Hosted by the charismatic Moe Diggs, the runway came alive with fierce struts from The Combs Twins, Lakeyah, Dreezy, and Sky Days, each embodying Ellaé Lisqué’s signature blend of sexiness and sophistication. The night crescendoed when Compton’s own Chef Boy electrified the crowd with a live performance that had the star-studded audience on their feet, proving this was no ordinary fashion show, it was an experience.

The guest list itself read like a who’s who of Hollywood and fashion’s elite. King Combs, Justin Combs, Quincy Brown, Jessica Rich, LisaRaye, Mariama Diallo, and James Keith were among the many familiar faces spotted in the crowd, all gathered to honor a woman who has redefined what it means to build a fashion empire from the ground up.
But at the heart of the glitz and glamour stood Maxie J. herself, radiant and reflective as she took the stage to share the story behind her brand’s decade-long journey.

“I really, really pray that my story inspires people to keep going,” she told the crowd, her voice filled with emotion. “Everybody faces trials and tribulations, but the key is to keep going. Give your life no other choice but to go the way you want it to go, and then your plan B is another way to make your plan A work.”
Founded in 2014 with nothing more than a vision and a handful of dresses sold online, Ellaé Lisqué has since blossomed into a brand with global reach. From its plus-size and curve lines to its chic Downtown Los Angeles showroom, Maxie J. has proven that inclusivity and style can walk hand in hand. Her designs, adorned by the likes of Summer Walker, Saweetie, Bebe Rexha, Tamar Braxton, and more, have graced red carpets, stages, and international runways, including Milan Fashion Week.

Yet what makes Ellaé Lisqué truly stand apart is its foundation. Ninety-nine percent of Maxie’s team are women of color, a fact that speaks volumes about her commitment to representation in an industry often criticized for its lack of diversity. With its signature mix of boldness, elegance, and a little edge, Ellaé Lisqué has given women pieces that feel like affirmations empowering them to own their confidence.

Hollywood came to celebrate a fashion brand, but it left celebrating a movement.
