Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 06/26/2026 – We are born, we live, and we die, and what happens in between is the The memories we leave behind are profoundly influenced by the people who knew us those who touched our lives, taught us, loved us, and guided us. “Marigold,” written, directed, and narrated by Dusty Dale Barker, is a non-fiction short documentary that elegantly weaves together found footage from Dusty’s family farm in 1959 with archival images from later years. Dusty’s narration tells a personal story that serves as a cinematic elegy, capturing the essence of enduring love and reflecting on what remains of us when those who remember us are no longer present.

This poetic and thought-provoking film resonates deeply with me, particularly because it features footage from the 1990s, the era of my own upbringing. Though that time feels like a distant memory now, it reconnects me with my personal history and raises the poignant question of what will endure after those who have taught and loved us have passed on.
