Los Angeles, CA – October 14, 2025 – The DaVinci International Film Festival (DIFF) proudly announced the winners of its seventh edition awards during the Closing Night Ceremony held October 12 at AMC Theatres at The Grove, Los Angeles. The festival celebrated outstanding talent across categories recognizing excellence in independent cinema.
Emile Hirsch was honored with the prestigious Honorary Leo Award for his outstanding contribution to independent cinema, spotlighting his acclaimed performance in Bau, Artist at War.

The opening night film and the fest’s Best Feature Film winner, Nawi, was Kenya’s official submission for the 2024 Oscars in the Best International Feature Film category. The film tells the compelling story of a 13-year-old girl who escapes a forced marriage in rural Kenya to pursue her dream of education, highlighting themes of resistance, hope, and transformation. Nawi has gained critical acclaim for its powerful narrative and stellar performances, representing the vibrant growth of Kenya’s film industry.
