Los Angeles, CA– (June 13th, 2025) – In true “Lynchian” style, Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), the ultimate destination for Hollywood memorabilia auctions, has taken one of the most prized possessions of the visionary auteur David Lynch–his personalized director’s chair–on a five day mystery tour in Los Angeles that started June 12th and will culminate at its final destination–the highly anticipated “The David Lynch Collection” a live auction event taking place Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the Peninsula Beverly Hills in Los Angeles and online at juliensauctions.com
On the second day of its mystery tour, the chair arrives today Friday, June 13th in front of the Mulholland Drive street sign, seen in the film’s opening and a symbol of Lynch’s distinctive artistic vision and cinematic style, with its twisting, treacherous path through the Hollywood Hills mirroring the Los Angeles mystique that define his works and seen in David Lynch’s magnum opus Mulholland Drive.
The tour kicked off yesterday Thursday, June 12th much to Lynch fans’ delight at the iconic Winkie’s Diner, a key location in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, located at 1016 W El Segundo Blvd, Gardena, CA 90247.
Much like Lynch’s surrealist oeuvre that leave fans unsettled, a trail of clues on Julien’s Auctions social media content has stirred the public guessing the chair’s next locations and the Lynch inspired references behind their destinations.
For more clues to the whereabouts of David Lynch’s director chair this weekend June 14-15 check on Julien’s Auctions Instagram. Each tour stop of the director’s chair will be viewable on Julien’s live stream on YouTube from 8am-12pm Pacific Time.
