Cringe and Comedy Collide at Hollywood Improv

0

Los Angeles, CA – The comedy show Ego Death takes over The Lab at The Hollywood Improv on Wednesday, July 30 at 8:00 PM marking its one-year anniversary, The show’s fearless format blends stand-up, singing, and raw, real-life storytelling.

Hosted by the razor-sharp Lauren Michaels, the show features seasoned comedy writer Andrea Abbate (Rules of Engagement, Accidentally on Purpose), plus [five additional performers to be announced], in a night where vulnerability takes center stage.

In each set, comics don’t just make us laugh—they sing a song (often badly) and tell a deeply embarrassing true story. Ego Death is a night of cringe, courage, and comedy, where the punchlines come wrapped in humanity.

“The goal,” says Michaels, “is to embrace your humiliating moments in an effort to minimize the tyranny of Ego. We’re all fallible, flawed, and trying our best—not one of us is more important than the other.”

Why Now?

In a time where ego-driven blindness is compromising our culture, Ego Death dares to go the other way—offering radical honesty and joyful humility, one awkward confession at a time.
