ABOUT GRACE TRULY

Grace Truly (Photo Andrew Dunn / Focus Features)

Grace was born in Somerset, England on December 2, 1998. She started traveling at four months old, which began a childhood of accompanying her Father on location, with her Mother & brother, often being home schooled. Her Father is the cinematographer Andrew Dunn, BSC. Although born as Grace Dunn, she created her stage name “Truly” upon discovering that Dunn was already in use by Equity. Grace graduated with honors from BA Performance: Design & Practice at Central Saint Martins, UAL in London – where she was nominated for the prestigious MullenLowe Nova Award that “celebrates and awards the most exceptional work from across the college” for an animated short she created and performed in, which combined a traditional approach with artificial intelligence, after being introduced to a new pioneering technique by her partner who has PhD in Machine Learning. Also during her time at university, she made her short film A Delirious Eye a solo project that reached success on the festival circuit, having won many awards around the globe for her work both in front and behind the camera.  She has since acted in several other short films, appeared in Downton Abbey: A New Era and currently has two projects in development as a writer/creator.

Grace’s latest acting role in Book Club: The Next Chapter is scheduled to release May 12, 2023 by Focus Features. Grace will be seen opposite Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton, Mary Steenburgen and Candice Bergen. Her role is as an assistant to a renowned Italian fashion designer, in a scene where Vivian (Fonda) shops for the perfect wedding dress. She shot this last year in Rome. Grace has always been sure of her path in the film industry, having gained first hand experience of the ups and downs it entails. She is currently writing her first feature screenplay that she plans to direct, whilst actively pursuing her career in acting. She will see what further opportunities arise post release of her first speaking role in Book Club: The Next Chapter.

In her pastime, Grace is an avid dressmaker – whether it’s designing garments herself or using vintage patterns, she sews at a high level (having started at age five). She also collects vintage clothing and hats, and although she mainly focuses on the 1950s, her earliest item dates back to 1890. There isn’t a creative endeavor that Grace hasn’t pursued and enjoyed, from embroidery, to drawing, photography, crochet and more. Although, of course, she always comes back to filmmaking – her truest love. Grace is under the Management of Charlie Gavshon of Rogue Management in London. Cher Culver PR based in Los Angeles is her PR representative.
