Palm Springs, CA (The Hollywood Times) 6/5/36 – Organizers confirmed that the verified participant total for the Marilyn Monroe look-alike gathering remains an astounding 1,037 participants, easily surpassing the previous Guinness World Record of 254. While official certification is still pending, organizers are optimistic.

“The absolute truth is that a new world record was set because of you. Thank you!” organizers shared with participants. “It was a fun, once-in-a-lifetime, only-in-Palm-Springs experience.”
The required performance evidence has been submitted to Guinness World Records for official review. Once Guinness completes its verification process and formally announces the record, participants will receive information about obtaining a commemorative certificate recognizing their role in the achievement.
Organizers also thanked the 1,165 supporters who registered to participate and acknowledged the many volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who worked behind the scenes to bring the ambitious celebration to life.
The Marilyn 100 celebration was made possible through the support of numerous sponsors and community organizations, including Presenting Sponsor PS Resorts; Silver Screen Sponsors the City of Palm Springs and Hyatt Palm Springs; Supporting Partner Visit Greater Palm Springs; and Contributing Partner Chandi Group.
Community partners included Chill Bar Palm Springs, McLean Company, Hotel Zoso, KGAY 103.1 Palm Springs, Coachella Valley Independent, The Hollywood Times, The Standard Magazine, CCBC Resort Hotel, Billion-Dollar Marilyn Lipstick, Destination PSP, Ted Gibson, and Visit Palm Springs.
Organizers also recognized nearly 70 curated events, film screenings, exhibitions, brunches, cocktail experiences, tours, and special gatherings that took place throughout the Marilyn 100 celebration weekend, transforming Palm Springs into a citywide tribute to one of Hollywood’s most enduring icons.
Special thanks were extended to organizing committee chair Jasmine Sullivan Waits, who helped coordinate the massive undertaking, and co-chair Max Dirdah, who originally conceived the idea that ultimately brought more than a thousand Marilyns together in downtown Palm Springs.
As Palm Springs awaits official confirmation from Guinness World Records, one thing is already clear: Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday celebration has become one of the most memorable community events in the city’s history.
