Award Winning Singer-Songwriter and Artist Brady Seals Pays Homage to Blue-Collar Works With New Single “Deeper Shade of Blue-Collar”

NASHVILLE, TN (June 23, 2023) – Award-winning singer-songwriter and artist Brady Seals, has released his new single, “Deeper Shade of Blue-Collar,” an upbeat tribute to the hardworking blue-collar workers that keep this country operating every day of the year. The new music is available for streaming and download here.

Penned by Seals, Kathy White and Bill Whyte, “Deeper Shade of Blue-Collar” was written as an ode to all the blue-collar workers. Seals’ grandfather was a Kentucky sharecropper and coal miner and his grandma worked on the farm. His dad drove a coal mining truck and worked as a crane operator for GM until he retired. His mother cleaned houses for a living. He comes from a long line of hard workers and he’s proud of that.

“Thank God for those men and women out there who aren’t afraid of getting their hands dirty,” Brady Seals proudly stated. “We couldn’t do this thing without you. This one’s for you!”

 “…Under all 10 fingernails
We gotta a lot of dirt and grease
Before that sun comes rollin’ up
We’re up and rollin’ up our sleeves
Got some farmers tans and calloused hands

Out here we folks work and play hard
Until way up in the night
And we got bloody busted knuckles
From the wrenches and the fights
Hangin’ buck skin tough and we don’t give up

Got some John Deere Green plowin’ up the land
Black stove in the kitchen brownin’ biscuits in a pan
We don’t eat on white linen but we know we’re truly blessed
Can I get Amen from some real rednecks?
Whoa whoa, once’st you get back in a holler
You get a deeper shade of blue-collar…”

Brady Seals served as producer, while engineering, mixing and mastering were done by Greg Strizek. The single was recorded at The Tracking Room in Nashville.

A first-rate group of session musicians played on the project, including Scott Williamson (drums), Jim Hyatt (bass), Bobby Terry (dobro, banjo, acoustic guitar), Kelly Back (guitar), Jim Hoke (harmonica) and Larry Franklin (fiddle).

Singer-songwriter and artist Brady Seals has a pedigree for success. He is related to numerous music industry heavyweights, including Jimmy Seals (Seals & Crofts), Dan Seals (England Dan & John Ford Coley), and country songwriters Troy Seals (Songwriting Hall of Fame Member) and Chuck Seals. Throughout his career, Brady Seals has sold over 11 million albums, topped three genres simultaneously and his songs continue to captivate audiences and attract licenses for TV, radio and film.

A touring musician since the age of 16, Brady Seals is probably best known for his tenure in Little Texas. During his six years as keyboardist and co-lead singer for the multi-platinum group, they were voted ACM’s Vocal Group of the Year Award and received two Grammy nominations. Little Texas celebrated three consecutive number-one hits with “What Might Have Been,” “God Blessed Texas” and “My Love,” all of which Seals co-wrote, granting him the ASCAP Triple Play Award.

In 1996 Seals pursued a solo career, collaborating with the legendary Rodney Crowell to co-produce his Warner Brothers album, The Truth. It features a duet with Wynonna Judd, “Another You, Another Me,” that sold over 100,000 singles. A self-titled CD followed in 1998, with guest appearances by Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Timothy B. Schmidt (The Eagles), Bela Fleck and Max Carl (.38 Special). Seals then explored the pop/rock genre from 1999-2001 by engineering, producing and writing the album, Thompson Street, collaborating with pop innovator Andy Sturmer (Jellyfish).

In 2002 Seals formed Hot Apple Pie (DreamWorks). Comprised of extraordinary musicians, the music industry dubbed the band “Music City’s Super Group.” Hot Apple Pie’s self-titled debut was released in 2005, featuring country music icon, Willie Nelson. The band quickly made history when they became the highest-selling debut country group in the Nielsen SoundScan era. Their entry single, “Hillbillies Love It In The Hay,” went Top 20. The video shot to #1 on VH-1 Country and was among CMT’s “Top 20 Sexiest Videos.”

Seals spent the next two years with Hot Apple Pie playing large venues in North America and Canada. They played the Grand Ole Opry, major festivals such as Summerfest and opened for country giants Keith Urban and Tim McGraw. Fans clamored for tickets to see and hear their live show as word spread about the amazing musicianship and Seals’ “Jagger-esque” stage appeal. Hot Apple Pie gained the respect of music industry insiders and established acts due to their tight harmonies, agile playing skills and charismatic stage antics.

In 2008 Seals released an independent solo CD called Play Time, featuring friends, Richard Marx and Stan Lynch (Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers), and hit the road again. He spent two years performing in clubs, theaters and other venues across the country.

When 2015 rolled around, Seals, along with his friend and co-writer, Gordon Kennedy, founded the songwriter show called Music City Pickers LIVE! featuring artists such as Ricky Skaggs, Larry Stewart (Restless Heart), Richie McDonald (Lonestar), Peter Frampton and many other hit-makers.

Most recently, Brady has paired up with Lua Crofts (daughter of Darrell “Dash” Crofts) to form Seals & Crofts 2. Audiences can now experience the music of 70s rock duo Seals & Crofts in a whole new way. They can hear the hits “Summer Breeze,” “Diamond Girl” and “We May Never Pass This Way (Again),” artfully reimagined with a reverent nod to the past. The project will feature many popular Seals & Crofts classics, as well as new songs from Seals & Crofts 2.
