Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 10/30/25 – Los Angeles, a city where architecture tells stories as vividly as the people who inhabit it, is set to celebrate those narratives once again. On Saturday, November 8, the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre opens its doors for the fifth edition of “Architecture Uncorked” — a much-anticipated evening blending design, dialogue, and the city’s ever-evolving identity.

This year’s gathering invites Angelenos to think deeply about how architecture shapes our communities, culture, and daily lives. The event kicks off with Max Podemski introducing his upcoming FORT Trail: Paradise in Silver Lake: Courtyards, Dingbats & the Evolution of Urban Living — a tour through the quirky, inventive, and enduring architectural forms that define Silver Lake’s mid-century charm.

Then, the always-insightful Frances Anderton, joined by a special guest, dives into one of Los Angeles’ most pressing design challenges: balancing innovation, housing, and heritage in a city under constant transformation. Expect a conversation that’s as lively as it is illuminating — a must for architects, dreamers, and anyone fascinated by the stories our structures tell.

To close the evening, sommelier and historian India Mandelkern brings history to the palate, offering a custom-selected wine inspired by Silver Lake’s creative essence. It’s not just a tasting — it’s an experience that fuses architecture, art, and atmosphere.

Early birds are in for a treat: the first 50 guests can join a FORT-inspired trivia challenge to test their knowledge of LA’s architectural treasures.

As someone who had the honor of lending my voice to the West Adams Houses Trail, celebrating homes owned by iconic African-American artists, this event feels like a full-circle moment — a continuing celebration of Los Angeles’ living legacy and the voices, past and present, that make it sing.

Join us. Raise a glass to design, diversity, and the creative pulse of our city.
