Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 08/02/2025 Excitement is building for FX and Hulu’s new original series, “Alien Earth,” which marks the first television installment of the iconic Alien franchise. The series is set just two years prior to the original 1979 film “Alien,” specifically in the year 2122, positioning it within a future that is increasingly closer to the original.
“Alien Earth” takes place 16 years after the events of “Alien: Covenant.” The Alien franchise is renowned as one of the most successful sci-fi franchises in film history, captivating audiences with its unique storytelling and complex characters. Fans have often debated the relationship between the xenomorphs and human characters, a subject that has been further explored in movies like “Prometheus.” With this film serving as a prequel, many viewers have found a deeper understanding and appreciation for the origins of the Alien lore.
