The Oscar-qualifying celebration will showcase short-form storytelling from around the world, August 13–23, 2026.

Hollywood, CA (The Hollywood Times) 7/16/26 – The HollyShorts Film Festival will return for its 22nd edition from August 13 through August 23, 2026, bringing filmmakers, industry professionals and movie lovers together for 11 days of short-form cinema.
Headquartered at the historic TCL Chinese Theatres, with additional events throughout Ovation Hollywood, this year’s festival will feature approximately 430 films spanning animation, comedy, drama, documentary, horror, LGBTQ+ stories and other genres. Audiences will be able to participate through both in-person and online programming.
Founded in 2005, HollyShorts has become one of the leading showcases for independent short films and an important destination for emerging and established filmmakers. The Oscar-qualifying festival also offers industry panels, educational programming, networking opportunities and special events designed to connect artists with audiences and entertainment professionals.
The celebration will conclude with the annual HollyShorts Awards Gala on August 23, honoring standout achievements from the 2026 lineup.
