(The Hollywood Times) 4/4/20 – Sciarra, pronounced “Sharra”, is an electronic-pop artist that is currently breaking out on social media and onto other music platforms. “Surrender It All” serves as her second single. There’s a dark undertone in this song but given the current times it seems like it could also be a human swan song. Perhaps the title goes well with this idea of surrendering and learning to cope in these dark times.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Dua Lipa and Allie X’s and I try not to be closed off when it comes to listening to newer artists in the electro-pop genre. Usually these artists are squeaky clean and it’s easy to continue to follow them without feeling shame. It’s usually the inexperienced and unlearned that make me regret giving my “follow” away.
She says “Surrender it all – this is your downfall” on the track before leaping into an epic electronic rhythm. There are so many facets to this song that I was more than happy to dive in and give it another spin. “This song is about the monster living inside our mind that we are constantly trying to battle. We find ourselves trying to run from it but realize that we have to accept it to keep ourselves moving forward” Sciarra explains. She hopes to bring more truth to the music scene and reflect what is going on in the world through her songs. “We all go through dark times feeling sad, angry, or emotional. I want people to know they are never alone in the fight even when they feel like they are the only one. I hope my songs can have an impact on the person listening no matter what they are feeling that day” Sciarra explains.
Sciarra has been writing for TV shows the last few years and her music has been featured on several TV shows and networks such as Freeform, Lifetime, and Netflix. Knowing she’s scoring these placements gets me excited and sets me on staying tuned to her instagram.
