On balancing audience expectations for Season 2, Foster said, “You have to help people know what they want. For Season 2, it was really important for us in the writers’ room to expand on the romance, but also to tell a real story of romance. That means you’re not always in the honeymoon stage.”

Later in the conversation, the cast discussed the emotional demands of bringing those moments to life on screen.

Asked where it’s harder to shoot an intense fight or play emotional scenes, Bell explained, “I am on the verge of tears at all times – I have a lot of emotions there that I can access. Being on the verge of tears has never been a problem for me.”

“I don’t have ready access to it,” Brody quipped of emotional scenes. “It’s a real question mark when I’m going to feel something … but it’s perversely nice when it shows up. Somewhere in there, you find your note, in the middle of a take or three.”

The panel concluded with a reflection on the show’s impact, with Foster sharing that the series “really shows two people who really appreciate each other.” She added, “We have a responsibility knowing young people are watching the show and asking, ‘what does a relationship look like?’ I think we’re setting a good example of what that could be.”
