Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 3/29/2026 – Limited series The Terror: Devil in Silver has announced its premiere date: May 7 on AMC+ and Shudder. Season 3 of this popular horror anthology series unfolds at a psychiatric hospital in Queens, NY, in which long-held secrets – and evil – lurk around every corner.

The anthology series first launched in 2018 with an adaptation of Dan Simmons’ novel The Terror, which reimagined the doomed, true-life 1845 Franklin Expedition to find the Northwest Passage. Season 2, The Terror: Infamy, focused on a Japanese internment camp during World War II.

Based on Victor LaValle’s novel The Devil in Silver, Season 3 stars Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey, The Guest) as Pepper, a working-class man wrongfully committed to the decaying and sinister New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital. He is forced to navigate the cryptic motives of both doctors and his fellow patients – and worse yet, to confront a demonic presence dwelling within the institution’s walls. The series also stars Judith Light (Before, The Menu), CCH Pounder (Warehouse 13, NCIS: New Orleans), Aasif Mandvi (Evil, The Daily Show) and Stephen Root (Barry, Office Space).

The executive producers for The Terror: Devil in Silver include legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott, showrunners Chris Cantwell and (author) LaValle, star Stevens, and horror icon Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body, The Invitation), who also directs the first two episodes.

“Working shoulder to shoulder with Victor LaValle to bring his masterful novel to the screen has been an incredible experience, as his story is, yes—packed with death and horror—but also brimming with beauty and the flickering-yet-unassailable light of our fragile humanity,” says Cantwell. “Our writing team expanded and enriched Victor’s pulse-pounding and profound themes, Karyn Kusama brought a brilliant cinematic eye to this very real, very frightening world and we did it all under the accomplished, hallowed banner of (Ridley Scott’s prodco) Scott Free and with a top tier crew.”

This writer is very much looking forward to watching The Terror: Devil in Silver, having very much enjoyed the first two seasons of this anthology series. Stay tuned for the premiere, and my review, in early May.
