Los Angeles, CA, (The Hollywood Times) 7/24/2025 The twenty-seventh season of South Park premiered last night on Comedy Central, July 23, 2025. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been eagerly waiting for this season—it’s been forever since the last one! Season 26 premiered on February 29, 2023, which means it’s been over two years. Seasons 26 and 25 only had six episodes each, while Season 24 was the shortest of all, consisting of just four episodes that aired as specials: “The Pandemic Special,” “South ParQ Vaccination Special,” “Post Covid,” and “Post Covid: The Return of Covid.”

Since Season 20, I feel that South Park has been holding back a bit. They had Mr. Garrison impersonating Trump, who ran for president as a “giant douche,” with his opponent being a “big fat turd.” Over the past few seasons, Garrison played Trump, which was funny but didn’t quite match the satirical edge of the earlier seasons that depicted real people. I expected this from last night’s premiere, but it got real, real fast.
South Park took direct shots at Trump himself, depicting him in a manner reminiscent of how they portrayed Saddam Hussein in earlier seasons, complete with a cutout of his actual face. Not only was I shocked, but the townspeople of South Park were as well. After Jesus Christ made a special appearance at South Park Elementary, invited by Super Christian Principal (formerly PC Principal), the town began to revolt over Jesus being in school. They took to the streets and kicked down Mr. Garrison’s door, realizing he wasn’t the president. The town then asked themselves, “Who’s the retarded faggot fucking everything up?” revealing Donald Trump himself.

We see Trump in bed with Satan, who jokes about him being on the Epstein list, and we were introduced to Karoline Levitt as a character in South Park. I hope they use her more this season, especially since she’s part of what makes this administration a joke and a circus. The episode is hilarious and takes aim at Trump, hitting Paramount hard just days after the controversy involving CBS and Stephen Colbert.

After the town’s revolt, Trump ends up suing South Park, and they settle for $3.5 million. The mayor exclaims they’ll just have to cut funding for schools, housing, and roads to make that work. As part of the settlement, they are forced to create pro-Trump messaging, which includes a Trump PSA made with AI. It depicts Trump surviving in the desert, naked, which humorously exposes his tiny penis. Watch it here.
I can’t wait for the rest of the season and am glad that Trey Parker and Matt Stone aren’t holding back!
