Michelle Danner is an American acting coach at the Los Angeles Acting School who specializes in the Meisner, Strasberg, Adler, Hagen, Chekhov and Stanislavsky techniques. She is also the founding and artistic director of the Edgemar Center for the Arts.

The Hollywood Times had the opportunity to speak with Michelle Danner about her work as an acting coach, director and producer and being a great mom to her two sons. Enjoy our conversation:
Danner is the daughter of a former William Morris agent, and she currently works as an actor, director and acting coach.
Michelle has taught acting for the last 29 years and has worked with many A-List Actors privately and on set such as Henry Cavill, Gerard Butler, Abigail Breslin, Zooey Deschanel, Penelope Cruz, Andy Garcia, Salma Hayek, James Franco, Seth Macfarlane, Michelle Rodriguez, Isla Fisher, Luke Wilson, Emily Van Camp, Donald Sutherland, Kyle MacLachlan, Mireille Enos, Taryn Manning, Ryan Phillippe, Chris Rock, Enrique Murciano, Josh Bowman.
Michelle trained extensively in Paris and New York with Stella Adler and Uta Hagen. She is the Founding Director of Edgemar Center for the Arts, designed by Frank Ghery, and raised $1.3 million to construct the two theaters and the art gallery at the Center. At the opening ceremony, Steven Spielberg commented, “Here we have a venue that can turn out some extremely experienced, daring and resourceful artists.” She is currently serving as Artistic Director and teaches ongoing classes at the Michelle Danner Studio and the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory.
Her highlights at Edgemar have been pioneering new works. Michelle has directed and acted in over thirty plays and musicals in New York and Los Angeles. Her favorite acting and directing credits include Tennessee William’s The Rose Tattoo, which garnered critic’s pick and awards including best actress and directing Jane Fonda in the Court of Public Opinion starring Anne Archer.
In 2006, she made her feature film directing debut How to go Out on a Date in Queens, starring Jason Alexander, Esai Morales and Ron Perlman.
Her second film Hello Herman starring Norman Reedus, Martha Higareda, and Garrett Backstrom. It premiered at the Hollywood Film Festival to a sold out audience and had its international premiere at the Monaco Charity Film Festival where it won the award for social relevance. The Bandit Hound, directed by Michelle Danner, a family comedy starring Catherine Bell, Lou Ferigno, Judd Nelson, Paul Sorvino, and Verne Troyer, was released in 2016.
Michelle’s Film Bad Impulse was released in December 2022, starring Grant Bowler, Sonya Walger and Paul Sorvino.
Look for her Courtroom Suspense Drama Miranda’s Victim starring Abigail Breslin, Ryan Phillippe, Luke Wilson, Emily VanCamp, Mireille Enos, Kyle MacLachlan, Andy Garcia and Donald Sutherland about the creation of the Miranda Rights. This film was the last film made by the late Donald Sutherland.
The action Thriller The Runner is being released by Saban Film in exclusive Theaters in August and widely on Demand starring Edouard Phillipponnat, Cameron Douglas, Elisabeth Röhm and Eric Balfour.
She is in Pre-Production for several Projects including the Romantic Comedy Starstruck and the family Comedy The Italians.
