Now Headmaster of Auradon Prep, former Villain Kid Uma extends an invite to the school to another VK – Red, the rebellious daughter of the tyrannical Queen of Hearts from Wonderland. The Queen of Hearts has long held a grudge against Auradon, especially against Cinderella, and seizes the opportunity to seek revenge when she drops her daughter off at school. When the Queen of Hearts incites a coup against Auradon, Red must team up with Cinderella’s perfectionist daughter Chloe as they travel back in time to try to undo the traumatic event that set the young Queen of Hearts down her villainous path.

The Hollywood Times had the opportunity to be part of media day with five cast members from Descendants: The Rise of Red with a roundtable with actresses Kylie Cantrall (plays Princess Red), who was celebrating her 19th birthday that day and I was able to wish her happy 19th birthday and that made her day and Malia Baker (plays Princess Chloe).  I then was able to interview Ruby Rose Turner (plays Bridget/Young Queen of Hearts), Dara Reneé (plays Uliana, Ursulas’s sister) and Morgan Dudley (plays Ella/Young Cinderella) on a separate interview.  Here are those two interviews, enjoy:

I have to say that I have not seen any of the Descendants movies, I guess because I have three grandsons and not granddaughters, but after seeing Descendants: The Rise of Red I will be watching the previous three movies this coming weekend.  I am such a Disney fan, even working at the Disneyland Resort back on 2001 – 2004 as a super pin trader. So I got to see all the princesses every day at work and trade all types of pins with guest, the greatest job Disneyland had.  They should bring it back! So watching this movie brought back so many magical moments of that time in my life and reminded me how much the princesses and villains meant to me and I can’t wait to see the other films.  I highly recommend this movie for its spectacular dance scenes and awesome music that make this a great musical.  The costumes alone were all so amazing. Hats off to the costume folks, the choreographer and writers.  Make sure to enjoy this new film with the entire family and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. You will want to see it several times as not to miss anything.  These young actresses made it all look like so much fun and there is a wonderful story to learn from this film. Make sure you talk with your teenagers after watching it about what they think the message of the film is.  Enjoy viewing Descendants: The Rise of Red on Friday, July 12th on Disney+.
