Anaheim, CA (The Hollywood Times) 1/28/24 – Having just performed at the NAMM Show this month, Gordon Goodwin, the Grammy award-winning and prolific musical talent has been nominated for more Grammys this year. Already with four wins and 25 nominations, Gordon’s most recent Grammy nominations are for “April in Paris” (Best Arrangements, Instruments and Vocals) “Cutey and the Dragon” (Best Instrumental composition) and “For Ella 2” (Best Jazz Vocal Album).
Wearing multiple hats of composer, arranger and conductor, Gordon specializes in playing piano and tenor saxophone. His 18-piece jazz orchestra Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band has recorded 10 critically acclaimed albums. Gordon has worked with the artists Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Johnny Mathis, Sarah Vaughan, John Williams, Idina Menzel, Leslie Odom Jr., Mel Torme and last but not least Quincy Jones.
Gordon has also been rewarded with three Daytime Emmy awards for his compositions and arrangements.

The NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) gig caps a storied career for Gordon Goodwin. And the hits keep coming. He will be performing Saturday, April 27 at the Janet and Ray Scherr Forum Theatre, Thousand Oaks. Before that, the “Phat Pack” will be playing Saturday, March 16 at the Bonita High School Jazz Festival in Bonita (near Chula Vista).
