El Capitan was playing 101 Dalmatians first movie in the morning at 9:30 as part of “100 Years of MGM History-Celebrating the UCLA Hearst Newsreel Collection. Certainly one I wanted to see again on the big screen, but there was a conflict with Jodie Foster hand and footprint ceremony across the street that I was attending. Sometimes that happens where you want to go and see a movie and another you want to see might be playing at the other cinemas at the same time. But you make it work and there always seems to never be enough time to see all the great movies that TCM offers during this wonderful and amazing film festival. If you think you aren’t really into these classic movies, do give the festival a try one year and you will be hooked!
At 2:30 over at Club TCM was a tribute conversation with Billy Dee Williams with TCM Host Jacqueline Stewart. I was so excited to be there for that conversation to see Mr. Billy Dee Williams. Jacqueline came onstage with Billy Dee Williams’ book in her hand and gave a wonderful tribute speech about Mr. Williams and she invited him up on the stage to join her and the crowd went wild when he got up off the front row chair he had been sitting and made his way to the sofa chair onstage.
It was a fantastic conversation and we all got to see that million dollar smile of his! Here are some photos and a quick video:
