CHRIS TUCKER, SETH MEYERS, JIM GAFFIGAN, SEBASTIAN MANISCALCO, JO KOY AND ALI WONG TO PERFORM STARTING APRIL 6th THROUGH LABOR DAY WEEKEND
Las Vegas, NV—April 6, 2019—Wynn Las Vegas in association with AEG Presents Las Vegas marks their new venture into comedy with a lineup of top comedians headlining the Encore Theater this Spring-Summer 2019. The roster, which kicked off with Chris Tucker this past Saturday, April 6, also includes renowned performers Seth Meyers, Jim Gaffigan, Sebastian Maniscalco, Jo Koy and Ali Wong – scheduled to appear May 4 through Labor Day Weekend (with additional acts to be announced).
Wynn Las Vegas kicked-off 2019 with two sold out performances by Chris Tucker, marking the first-ever stand-up comedy shows hosted by the resort.
The Hollywood Times was in attendance for Chris Tucker’s performance this past Saturday, April 6, and what a funny man Chris Tucker is — he still has it. He looked amazing, and boy, what a suit he had on. He had so many great lines and one impersonation after another: from his good buddy Jackie Chan to Bill Cosby, Ice Cube, Wesley Snipes, President Trump regarding “The Wall,” and the funniest was of Michael Jackson.
Chris told many stories about he and Michael Jackson hanging out, and one particular great and funny story was about meeting Barry Gibb. He also performed a short version of a couple of Michael Jackson’s songs. He went on to talk about Michael Jackson, and going to see Prince, as he sung a verse of Prince’s song Raspberry Beret. We sang out loud and Chris got a kick out of it. Now that was another story you need to hear in person.
He asked the audience “who wants to see another Rush Hour? The audience went wild and Chris said, “Well then call Warner Brothers. I call them every day!” He brought up the possibility of Rush Hour 3 and asked the audience if they were up for another Friday. The crowd went wild after that.
He made fun of Ice Cube by saying, “I don’t know if I will be doing another Friday, because Cube didn’t pay me for the first one!” He told stories of the making of Rush Hour movies with Jackie Chan, and a prank Jackie played on him regarding daily gifts from China. Hilarious.
The show opened up with Sherman Golden, and what a funny comedian he was. He asked the audience if anyone had won any money, and this gray haired gentleman raised his hand. Then Sherman asked him how much he won, and the man said $200. Well that just made for some great comedy for Sherman. He played off that “only winning $200” throughout his routine and picked on this fellow. It made it even funnier, because, believe it or not, this gray haired man just happened to be my ex-husband. I so wanted to stand up and tell Sherman that I was his ex-wife, but for some reason did not. It would have been hilarious I bet. So Sherman made fun of folks coming in late, and tried to set up my ex with women coming in, as he was sitting alone. It was hilarious.
What a great night of comedy… and Sherman Golden had the audience all pumped up for Chris Tucker.
If you ever have the chance to see Chris Tucker live, do it.
If this is any indication of how the rest of the comedy shows will go, I highly recommend you planning a trip to The Wynn Las Vegas to see these shows.
