At the LA Phil’s Deck the Hall Holiday Concert Series, D-Nice and Friends, including Big Daddy Kane, Celebrated an Invigorating and Jamming New Year’s Eve Experience

Indeed, on New Year’s Eve, the revered home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic expanded its boundaries with a smile as Derrick “D-Nice” Jones led a fabulous show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall (WDCH). It was the happening place to be in Los Angeles as D-Nice brought his revolutionary virtual “Club Quarantine to life on stage. It was a night to remember, with a who’s who of talented guests displaying their funk, jazz, soul, and hip-hop talents for a sold-out house.
D-Nice enlightened the challenging quarantines and isolation of the COVID-19 virus with his virtual “Club Quarantine.” Paving the way for the success of the Instagram Live series, “Club Quarantine” raised millions for first responders. By raising money while having fun, D-Nice
In response to his contribution, the NAACP Image Awards named him Entertainer Of The Year, Time Magazine nominated him for 2020 Person of the Year, and Ebony Magazine included him on the 2021 “Power 100” list. There is no question that D-Nice helped to relieve the stress of those difficult days and nights with his positive vibes and vivacious musical offerings.
Since those challenging times, D-Nice has transitioned to Club Quarantine Live, performing in numerous legendary venues, such as the Hollywood Bowl and Carnegie Hall, and at iconic events, such as the Met and Kennedy Center Honors Galas. On New Year’s Eve, D-Nice brought a bevy of incredible performers to D-Nice and Friends at the WDCH, including Big Daddy Kane, Kenny Burns, Lady London, Mike Phillips, Kenny Burns, Tweet, Case, and many more.
Although pictures are a no-no at the WDCH, you can see some photos shot by the performers on host Tisha Campbell’s Instagram page. Tisha led the way from start to finish with a big smile and many laughs. Indeed, many of the stars celebrated their experience at the WDCH on Instagram.
Beyond the performers, the exciting event also brought many new faces to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The crowd was impressed with the venue’s acoustical magic, great sight lines, and comfortable seats. From the beginning to the end, all had a wonderful time as Club Quarantine Live proved the perfect way to bring in the new year.
