Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 1/27/22 – VIC VEGA Clothing brand is a designer clothing brand coming out of Memphis, TN. The brand’s purpose is to motivate and inspire anyone that has a dream or a goal.
VIC VEGA was created by Victor Ivan Jimenez Vega. Victor Ivan and his mother migrated to the United States when he was around four years old, He will never forget crossing the Memphis bridge and seeing all those city lights.
Growing up, Victor Ivan and his mother were helped a lot with making adjustments and adapting to the American culture. In 2019, right before the pandemic, Victor Ivan committed to working on and starting his business as an entrepreneur, and then VIC VEGA VV was created on December 29, 2019.
In the past two years. he spent a lot of time isolated and creating, networking, marketing, and expanding the brand. He believes that by having great ideas and working hard he could get his brand to consistently grow and he did just that.
In the years 2020-2021, he has given out over 400+ shirts to the city of Memphis and has been featured on ABC24 news. He has also done a nonprofit event with the Memphis Grizzles.
Victor Ivan’s vision as an entrepreneur is to break the narrative and become one that his city can look up to when it comes to entrepreneurship, also being fluently bilingual in both English and Spanish he hopes to help out both communities in his city in the near future. Memphis is a blue-collar city that grit n grinds and VIC VEGA VV embodies those traits to the fullest! We are very excited for the year 2022 and believe that if we continue working hard and dreaming big that there is no limit to how high we can go!
What does it take to launch a successful clothing company?
It takes a lot of passion, creativity, networking, marketing, and drive to launch a successful company. Even if you might lack capital and funds to start up a business, don’t allow that to slow you down or stop the process. I believe planning all the way through is very critical, taking it day by day and reminding yourself that you are closer than you were yesterday. You have to see the vision and believe it even if nobody else can see or believe it.
Tell us about your styles.
Well, the style is very diverse as it can really fit any style honestly, we can go from streetwear to luxury to just about any look, but to us, it’s not about the style or the look its more about the meaning and story behind the name VIC VEGA. Vic — being short for Victor — one that accepts challenges and comes out victorious. Vega- identifies as a star in the universe. This correlates to if you work hard and accept the challenges life throws at you that you can come out victorious and also shine like the star you are!
What makes VIC VEGA unique?
Well, I believe it’s our work ethic, the Grit-N-Grind mentality while chasing the American Dream. The brand tells a story that if you stick true to your visions by working hard and believing in yourself then anything is possible. Our brand really started from scratch from the bottom but we never gave up. This country truly is a beautiful place the best in the world, I’ve been able to turn a lot of my childhood dreams into reality. We are having a lot of fun as a brand right now; I can feel the younger version of my self-smiling with optimism every day I get up.
Who would you like to work with?
As an Entrepreneur, I would love to get the opportunity to work and be mentored by some of the biggest sharks and entrepreneurs such as Mark Cuban, Daymond John, Kevin O’Leary, and Jordan Belfort. I can see myself one day sitting at the same table with them. That’s how big my goal is as an entrepreneur to be one of the best
What is your vision for VIC VEGA?
I would love to continue working with the hometown of Memphis Grizzlies by hosting more nonprofit events. Our last one was a major success, and we still have the same vision, that the number of tickets we can give back to the city can grow and the distance of one community to another shrinks. The Grizzlies have a young team with a bunch of true leaders and they have sparked a new light in the city. It’s very refreshing and inspiring. This is really good for our city and youth; kids look up to these young studs because they show up every night and play their hearts out for the city of Memphis. I’m a big fan of this team so collaborating with them would be a dream come true. We have recently been in talks with some connections in Hollywood, Los Angeles. They have been great mentors by guiding and opening up new doors for us, We have built a strong relationship and soon we could see collaborations with top influencers and celebrities..
Share your goals for 2022.
The goals we have planned for the next 2 years are major, I mean why wouldn’t we dream big? That’s what this brand is all about I’m very excited for our future as a brand. We will be expanding and growing throughout the world in the next 2 years. I envision Vic Vega VV to be up there with the biggest names and to be a household brand. We know it will take a lot of hard work and time, but we are perfectly fine with that. We are grateful and happy for all the support and recognition we are receiving!
