About Billy Crystal
Tony and Emmy Award-winning comedian, actor, producer, writer and director Billy Crystal is known to audiences around the world as the star of such feature films as WHEN HARRY MET SALLY… (1989), City Slickers (1991) and Analyze This (1999); as a cast member of NBC’s Saturday Night Live; and as the acclaimed nine-time host of the Academy Awards.
Crystal landed his first major television role in 1977 on the comedy series Soap, playing Jodie Dallas, one of the first openly gay characters on TV. In 1984, he hosted Saturday Night Live and a few months later joined the regular cast. His best-known SNL creation was Fernando, an unctuous talk show host whose tagline, “You look mahvelous!” entered the popular lexicon.
In 2017, he completed a 30-city North American tour, which garnered rave reviews in every market. The previous year, Crystal embarked on a hugely successful and critically acclaimed 13-day tour in six major cities of Australia and New Zealand.
Crystal’s many feature-film credits include the buddy cop comedy Running Scared (1986), Rob Reiner’s comic fairy tale The Princess Bride (1987) and Danny DeVito’s dark comedy Throw Momma from the Train (1987). But his breakthrough role came in 1989 when he starred opposite Meg Ryan in Reiner’s WHEN HARRY MET SALLY…, which became a romantic touchstone for a generation of moviegoers. Other iconic titles include Mr. Saturday Night (1992) and America’s Sweethearts (2001). In addition, he starred opposite Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei in the 2012 Christmas family comedy Parental Guidance, which he also produced.
He is the voice of one eyed Mike Wazowski in Disney-Pixar’s animated global blockbusters Monsters Inc. (2001) and its prequel Monsters University (2013). As a director, Crystal was nominated for both an Emmy and a Directors Guild Award for his direction of the 2001 HBO movie 61*, which told the dramatic story of the 1961 race between Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris to break Babe Ruth’s single-season home-run record.
In addition to hosting the Oscars nine times—most recently in 2012—Crystal has also hosted the Grammy Awards three times. His work as a host, writer and producer on the televised awards shows has earned him 14 Emmy nominations and five wins. Crystal won a sixth Emmy for his 1989 HBO comedy special, Billy Crystal: Midnight Train to Moscow. Other HBO specials include Billy Crystal: A Comic’s Line and “Billy Crystal: Don’t Get Me Started – The Lost Minutes”
Crystal made his Broadway debut in 2004 with the original production of his one-man show 700 Sundays, for which he won a Tony Award. The Broadway production was taped in front of a live audience for an HBO special that aired in April 2014, garnering four Emmy Nominations and a fall DVD release.
He lives in Los Angeles and New York with Janice, his wife of 46 years.

About Meg Ryan
Meg Ryan’s comedic appeal was widely recognized in her first Golden Globe-nominated performance as Sally Albright in WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (1989), directed by Rob Reiner and written by Nora Ephron. She went on to star in Ephron’s hit romantic comedy Sleepless In Seattle (1993) opposite Tom Hanks, garnering a second Golden Globe nomination. Her last collaboration with Ephron and Hanks was the 1998 romantic comedy You’ve Got Mail, which once again gained Ryan international recognition as she was awarded her third Golden Globe nomination for her role in the film.
Acclaim has also come to Ryan for her distinctive dramatic portraits, including her role opposite Denzel Washington as the first military woman nominated for a Medal of Honor in Courage Under Fire (1996), directed by Ed Zwick, and her moving portrayal of a wonderful woman with a drinking problem in Luis Mandoki’s When a Man Loves a Woman (1994), opposite Andy Garcia. For her performance opposite Kiefer Sutherland in the Sundance Institute’s Promised Land (1987), she earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination.
Ryan exhibits her versatility and natural charm in every role she plays. Ryan’s recent film credits include Cheryl Hines’ Serious Moonlight (2009) penned by the late Adrienne Shelley; the remake of George Cukor’s 1930 film The Women (2008); Jonathan Kasdan’s In The Land of Women (2007) and Steven Schachter’s The Deal (2008).

She made her motion picture debut as Candice Bergen’s daughter in Rich and Famous (1981), and attracted the attention of moviegoers and critics in her 1986 performance as a fighter pilot’s wife in Top Gun.
In 2011, Ryan traveled to Cambodia with journalist Nick Kristof as part of the groundbreaking PBS documentary series, Half the Sky.
Ryan made her directorial film debut with Ithaca (2015), written by Erik Jendersen and based on the novel by William Saroyan. Ithaca was released September 2016.

Rob Reiner first came to fame as an actor in the landmark television series All In the Family but went on to become the acclaimed director of some of the most popular and influential motion pictures of the past few decades, deftly moving among many styles. His work ranges from the pure comedy of This Is Spinal Tap (1984) and The Princess Bride (1987) to the intense drama of Stand By Me (1986), Misery (1990), A Few Good Men (1992) and Ghosts of Mississippi (1996); from the romantic comedy of WHEN HARRY MET SALLY… (1989), The American President (1995) and Flipped (2010) to the poignant comedy-drama, The Bucket List (2007), And So It Goes (2014) starring Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton, Being Charlie (2015), which was co-written by Reiner’s son, Nick and LBJ (2016) starring Woody Harrelson, and he is currently in post-production on his latest Shock and Awe which again stars Woody Harrelson along with Alec Baldwin, Tommy Lee Jones and James Marsden.
Reiner is also a vigorous political activist and was instrumental in establishing the California Children & Families Commission, which he chaired for seven years. Recently, he and his wife Michele joined with the American Foundation for Equal Rights to bring the landmark federal court challenge to California’s Prop. 8, the ban on marriage for gay and lesbian couples.
