The biggest names in Alternative music fill the Honda Center with unforgettable sounds as iHeart Radio’s ALTer EGO show rocks Anaheim

Anaheim, CA (Special to The Hollywood Times) 1/14/24 – The seventh annual 2024 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO Presented by Capital One celebrated the biggest names in Alternative Rock live in front of music fans on Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.

Hosted by Woody of iHeartRadio ALT 98.7’s nationally syndicated “The Woody Show,” the event brought unforgettable performances from Fall Out Boy, The 1975, The Black Keys, Thirty Seconds to Mars, BUSH, Sum 41, Yellowcard, lovelytheband and The Last Dinner Party.

Special guests and presenters included Luke Hemmings of 5SOS, Damiano David of Måneskin, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, Brent Smith of Shinedown, and the alternative rock-group Weathers featuring Cameron Boyer, Cameron Olsen and Brennen Bates.

The 2024 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO event was broadcasted on iHeartRadio Alternative and Rock stations across the country, on iHeartRadio.com and on the iHeartRadio app. Alternative music fans around the world were able to livestream the event on Veeps.com or via the Veeps app on Apple TV, Roku, iOS, and Android.

The music heard on iHeartRadio’s Alternative and Rock stations shined on stage with an extraordinary lineup that included these special moments:

  • The Black Keys kicked off the night with rock-hits “I Got Mine,” “Gold On The Ceiling,” “Howling For You,” “Lonely Boy,” and the debut of their new song, “Beautiful People (Stay High).”
  • Yellowcard kept the energy going with “Way Away,” “Lights and Sounds,” “Childhood Eyes,” “Only One,” and their 2003 smash-hit “Ocean Avenue.”
  • lovelytheband rocked the stage with performances of “these are my friends,” “make you feel pretty,” “nice to know you,” “sail away,” and “broken.”
  • Sum 41 got the crowd on their feet with energetic performances of alt-rock classics “The Hell Song,” “In Too Deep,” “Landmines,” “Fat Lip,” and “Still Waiting.”
  • The 1975 lit up the stage with fan-favorite songs “If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know),” “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You),” “Robbers,” “I’m In Love With You,” “Somebody Else,” and “About You.”
  • BUSH brought the nostalgia with ‘90s classics “Everything Zen,” “Machinehead,” “More Than Machines,” “Nowhere To Go But Everywhere,” and “Glycerine,” plus a surprise performance with Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains for “Comedown.”
  • The Last Dinner Party mesmerized the audience with their indie-rock tracks “the Feminine Urge,” “Sinner,” “My Lady of Mercy” and hit-song, “Nothing Matters.”

  • Thirty Seconds to Mars had the crowd singing along to “Walk On Water,” “Kings & Queens,” “Seasons,” “Attack,” and “Stuck.” To close out the set, Leto invited audience members on-stage to help perform “The Kills.”
  • Fall Out Boy closed out the night with iconic performances of “Sugar, We’re Going Down,” “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up),” “Dance, Dance,” “Thnks fr th Mmrs,” and “Centuries” with special guest, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park.
