This spotlight airs each Thursday in February. Each film is connected to the following by a kiss shared by the lead actors. It all comes full circle when the last film of the spotlight, Theodora Goes Wild (1936), connects back to the first, My Favorite Wife (1940), both featuring a kiss from Irene Dunne to her costars, Melvyn Douglas and Cary Grant.
For instance, in the programming on February 18, Frank Sinatra and Debbie Reynolds share a kiss in The Tender Trap (1955). Debbie Reynolds goes on to kiss Gene Kelly in Singin’ in the Rain (1952), and Gene Kelly then kisses Cyd Charisse in Brigadoon (1954).
