Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Danny Glover, Ledisi, Lisa Fischer, Roberta Flack, Lalah Hathaway, Billy Porter, Robert Glasper and more pay tribute to Legendary Performer Rachelle Ferrell with a virtual benefit concert this Friday, May 21st @ 8 p.m. EDT

Iconic Jazz and R&B talent Rachelle Ferrell – who Quincy Jones describes as one of the best voices of an era – will be celebrated on her 60th birthday on May 21st 8 p.m. EDT by friends and fans the world over with a star-studded virtual tribute: Peace On Earth – Part 1.  Rachelle’s team has decided to use the occasion to also shine a light on the work of the Jazz Foundation of America which advocates for the wellbeing of artists – the often unacknowledged healers of our society.

Peace On Earth – Part 1, titled after Rachelle’s moving  composition, is a benefit concert dedicated to the movement of music that unites the masses, and will be hosted by acclaimed TV and radio veteran, Angela Stribling. Performers slated to pay tribute to the smooth, six-octave range singer, songwriter and musician (who gave us hits like “Nothing Has Ever Has Ever Felt Like This,” “Welcome To My Love” and “I Forgive You”) include Stevie Wonder, Kenny Lattimore, Byron Miller, Robert Glasper, T.C. Carson, Rashada Dawan, Kenny Wesley, Ashley Jayy with special appearances from Quincy Jones, Tyler Perry, Ledisi, Roberta Flack, Danny Glover, Lisa Fischer, Jill Scott, Billy Porter, Lalah Hathaway and more.

Artists, like Rachelle, all over the world aspire to use their art to touch lives. In light of the global pandemic, where artists have not been touring for over a year, let’s show Rachelle what her music means to us. Whether it’s $5 or $5000, let’s join together and give her the greatest pay for a gig she has ever had. All monies raised for this event go to Rachelle’s BPGE (Best Paid Gig Ever) Fund and to the JFA’s Musicians’ Emergency Fund. All donations are tax-deductible. Watch, donate, and share, but most importantly, come together, join the celebration and spread love.

The stream is free to view, but donations are strongly encouraged and deeply appreciated. If you are having a virtual birthday watch party, please contact our team at PeaceOnEarth@rachelleferrell.com for a chance to be mentioned.

About the Jazz Foundation of America

For 32 years, the Jazz Foundation of America (JFA) has been keeping jazz, blues and roots alive by helping the musicians who have played the soundtrack to our lives. With compassion and discretion, the Jazz Foundation makes it possible to pay someone’s rent and keep them from eviction or homelessness when illness, accident, or old age prevents them from working. Our social work services and Musicians’ Emergency Fund provide housing assistance, pro bono medical care, disaster relief, and financial support to musicians and their families in times of crisis. During the pandemic, JFA has provided assistance in more than 10,000 cases nationwide. Through our Jazz and Blues in the Schools and Gig Fund performance programs, we create purpose and dignified employment for hundreds of musicians every month and bring free concerts to thousands of underserved audience members at public schools, hospitals, nursing homes, museums, parks, libraries and community centers across the country. Whatever the need is, we don’t just fix the problem, we heal it with love.
