Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 1/19/24- Sima Galanti, the Israeli American singer-songwriter, has recently unveiled her latest spiritual rock song titled “Devotion.” This emotionally charged track serves as a tribute to the tragic events that took place in Israel on October 7th. Sima, known for her edgy sound and powerful messages, stays true to her unique style while delivering a deeply spiritual and heartfelt composition.

A Message of Healing and Strength
In the wake of the horrific massacre in her homeland carried out by Hamas, Sima found herself overwhelmed by grief, pain, and anger. The rocket attacks, the heartbreaking hostage situation, and the growing antisemitism worldwide shook her to her core. Seeking a constructive and creative outlet to process her emotions, she turned to music and decided to release a beautiful and spiritual song titled “Devotion.”
Penned by Sima herself, “Devotion” incorporates lyrics in both English and Hebrew. The Hebrew lyrics were adapted from a prayer found in the Book of Psalms in the Bible. Sima chose to change the word “praise” to “prayers” in the line “O Lord, open my lips and my mouth shall say your prayers,” to convey a more urgent call for help and to express her deep connection to God and her faith.
The Journey of “Devotion”
“Devotion” begins with a meditative and prayer-like introduction, gradually building up to a powerful and intense rock song. With heavy guitars and a captivating bass line, the track captures Sima’s emotional turmoil and serves as a cathartic release of her pain. Sima produced the song herself, along with Evan Rodaniche, who also mixed and mastered the track.
To complement the song, Sima directed and produced an accompanying music video that beautifully captures the essence of Israel, the Jewish people, and their deep faith and spirituality. The video showcases Sima and others praying at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, where thousands of written wishes and prayers are placed into the cracks of the ancient structure. Drone shots of old Jaffa and Tel Aviv, breathtaking sunsets, crashing ocean waves, and mountain trails add to the visual narrative, symbolizing Sima’s life journey and her troubled homeland.

Sima Galanti is an Israeli American singer-songwriter, producer, and documentarian who has overcome numerous trials and tribulations throughout her life. Born in Israel and now based in Los Angeles, Sima pursued her passion for music with a determination to live authentically and freely. Her unique style draws inspiration from a diverse range of artists, including Bjork, The Cranberries, and A Perfect Circle.
To refine her craft, Sima studied under renowned vocal and acting coaches in New York City, such as Don Lawrence and Melissa Cross. In 2009, she made her debut with the single “Breaking Down the Walls.” She subsequently released her first full-length album, “This Is My Truth,” in 2012, followed by the EP “Beautiful Liar” in 2014.
