Palm Springs, CA (The Hollywood Times) 3/12/26 – When Desert Legends Women’s Weekend returns to Palm Springs April 3–5, 2026, the celebration of women, music, sports, and community will expand into an exciting new dimension: interactive workshops designed to inspire, uplift, and connect attendees.
Among the first of these experiences is a special workshop led by longtime broadcaster, psychic medium, and spiritual counselor Sheena Metal, who will guide guests through an engaging and light-hearted exploration of astrology, meditation, and the art of raising personal vibration.
As Senior Editor of The Hollywood Times and co-producer of Desert Legends alongside singer-songwriter Jennifer Corday, I recently sat down with Metal for a Zoom interview to discuss her journey, her work, and what attendees can expect from her upcoming workshop at Hotel Zoso.
Sheena Metal has spent decades in broadcasting, hosting radio and television programs while interviewing artists, creators, and thought leaders. Yet her path into spiritual work began long before she openly embraced it.
“Looking back, I think I always had gifts,” Metal shared during our conversation. “But I didn’t acknowledge them at first.”
At age 23, a life-changing freeway accident and near-death experience opened the door to her intuitive abilities.
“After that, the gifts just started pouring in,” she explained. “I was still in denial for a long time. Eventually my psychic friends pulled me out of what I call the ‘psychic closet.’”
By 2014, Metal began working professionally as a psychic medium and energetic healer, and by 2018 she had fully opened her spiritual practice.
Today she balances multiple creative and spiritual pursuits—from private readings and healing sessions to broadcasting and film work.
“I’m a spiritual creator and healer, but I’m also an artist,” Metal said. “Those two things really go hand in hand.”
Desert Legends Women’s Weekend—co-produced by myself and Jennifer Corday—has become known for its vibrant mix of concerts, sports competitions, networking events, and celebrations of women’s empowerment.
This year marks the introduction of workshops, giving attendees opportunities to connect, learn, and explore new perspectives.
Metal’s workshop will focus on astrology, meditation, and energetic awareness, but with a distinctly Desert Legends twist.
“I wanted it to be fun,” she explained. “A lot of spiritual work can feel heavy. But this is a joyful weekend. I want people to bring their drinks, bring their food, relax, laugh, and leave feeling good.”

“Mostly,” Metal said, “I want people to leave laughing and then go enjoy the rest of the weekend.”
Much of Metal’s work centers on helping people cultivate energetic awareness and emotional balance.
Through private readings, chakra balancing sessions, and energetic cleanses, she helps clients reconnect with their inner sense of peace and purpose.
“A lot of people know how to raise their vibration,” she said. “But they don’t know how to keep it there.”
She believes the constant noise of daily life—from social media to the news cycle—can easily pull people out of alignment.
“If we keep doing the work, little by little, we keep raising our vibration,” Metal explained. “When you live in that space, you’re healthier, happier, and better in your relationships.”
In addition to her spiritual practice, Metal continues to host multiple radio and video programs.
Her syndicated shows include:
“Raising Your Vibration” – Conversations with individuals making a positive impact in the world.
“Haunted Playground” – A show dedicated to paranormal experiences and understanding the unexplained.
She also hosts several iHeartRadio video programs including “The Sheena Metal Experience,” where she blends art, entertainment, and spirituality through interviews and discussions.
“I believe science and spirituality are two sides of the same coin,” Metal said. “We’re just not evolved enough yet to fully understand how they fit together.”
Metal’s involvement with Desert Legends also comes from a place of friendship and community.
“I’ve known Valerie and Jennifer Corday for over 30 years,” she said. “I love anything that celebrates women’s empowerment, creativity, and fun. And I know how hard it is to produce events like this, so I always support my friends.”
Her workshop will take place at Hotel Zoso, with registration available through DesertLegends.net.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to book private readings and spiritual sessions with Metal during her extended stay in Palm Springs from March 25 through April 8.
And as a fun Desert Legends tradition continues, the weekend will also coincide with Metal’s birthday celebration.
“I’m never home for my birthday anymore,” she laughed. “I’m always in Palm Springs—and I love that.”
Desert Legends Women’s Weekend continues to grow as one of Palm Springs’ most exciting community events, bringing together music lovers, athletes, creatives, and changemakers for a powerful celebration of women.
With the addition of workshops like Metal’s, the weekend now offers attendees opportunities not only to celebrate—but also to connect, reflect, and explore new ideas.
For Sheena Metal, that blend of joy, empowerment, and friendship is exactly what makes the event special.
“The world can feel heavy,” she said. “So anytime we can come together, laugh, and lift each other up, that’s powerful.”
