Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 7/27/24 – I recently attended Sutton Stracke’s fashion show for her Green Label Brand Capsule on July 22nd. The event took place at the Godfrey Hotel rooftop in Hollywood, California, and was attended by a host of celebrities, including her fellow cast mates from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Sutton Green Label embodies circularity and sustainability in the fashion industry, with a goal to enhance the lives of our consumers and community while positively impacting our planet. She refers to this collection as a travel collection, stating that it represents a car, a train, a plane, a walk, and a journey. The show featured twenty pieces, all named after cities, such as the Cabo mini dress, Moscow zip skirt, and Aspen camel sweater.
This marked her first-ever fashion show, and she expressed pride in this collection and being part of the sustainable fashion solution. Sutton highlighted her journey in learning about sustainability and the environmental impact of fashion, expressing her pride in contributing to the solution. She credited her daughter Porter for teaching her about sustainability and advocating for “Smart Fashion.”
I found the collection to be cute and very wearable, unlike some fashion shows where some pieces seem only fit for editorial photoshoots. I particularly appreciated that she included men’s clothing and a few non-binary or unisex pieces – I’m intrigued by the men’s clothing and would love to know if they’re available in my size and affordable. I admire the green sustainability aspect of her pieces, especially since I’ve bought a lot of factory-made clothes in unsustainable fabrics. I believe many others are also guilty of this, so I appreciate her efforts in offering smart, green clothing.
The fashion show was entertaining. It kicked off with a bit of humor as Kathy Hilton inadvertently stole the show by being in the way of the models at the start. It would have been fun to see her walk the show, as Jennifer Tilly did.
