West Hollywood, CA (The Hollywood Times) 6/30/24 – In January 2024 this reviewer wrote an in-depth piece on Ori Yardeni’s promising biopic about celebrated American tech entrepreneur Rob Ryan called THE MAN WHO SAVED THE INTERNET WITH A SUNFLOWER for Close-Up Culture. Here is the link for that review.
On the night of Friday, June 28th Nicole Muj of Kultura PR hosted a screening of Yardeni’s film at the prestigious Dances With Films festival held at the TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood. Ori Yardeni and Rob Ryan attended the reception that preceded the film screening with their wives Irit and Terry and conducted a Q and A afterwards.
One is struck by the relentless logic that led Rob Ryan to prioritize the World Wide Web and the work of a pretty young colleague over that of his self-sacrificing lawyer wife. Fortunately, both the WWW and the marriage were saved thanks to the heroic efforts of both Ryans over several decades that have rewarded them with many laudable successes.
Serbia stands in for the Silicon Valley in this intriguing tale of American entrepreneurship that puts no limits on progress. One is reminded of the 1997 Apple commercial featuring disruptive visionaries such as Einstein, Gandhi, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Here’s to the crazy ones!
