THT darlings Dustin Quick and Medi eM premiered their new music video Rebel to the world on the evening of Saturday, August 17th at the Crescent Theatre in Beverly Hills. The state-of-the-art venue attracted a crowd of about 100 well-wishers on what turned out to be Ms. Quick’s birthday.
The red carpet was flanked by blow-ups of “Rebel” and other cutting-edge videos produced by the talented pair of artists. “Rebel” was shot on site in Paris and featured stunning vistas of the Eiffel Tower and Versailles, tying it in with the Francophilia surrounding the recent Paris Summer Olympics. The excited crowd, which included Alice Amter, Anna Gupta, Eve Richards, Kate Linder, Jennifer Moxham, Larry Namer, and many others, called for an encore screening.
Dustin and Medi gave a moving speech that delineated Rebel’s messages of love and hope during a time of profound global turmoil. Light refreshments were served after the two screenings.
The charming event, to which I was invited by Ms. Nicole Muj of Kultura PR International, capped off an eventful summer dominated by coverage of major local entertainment coups such as the handover of the Paris Olympics to Los Angeles in 2028 and the Miss Teen USA and Miss USA pageants held in DTLA. At its best, Hollywood is about the friendships that form when good people come together while striving to be their best.
