Nashville, TN (The Hollywood Times) 9/18/24 – AMERICANAFEST 2024 kicked off in style, bringing together a vibrant crowd and an unforgettable lineup of talent. The evening began at the Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) party, where music lovers gathered to celebrate the rich tapestry of Americana. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as fans and artists mingled, setting the perfect tone for the festival ahead.

After soaking up the energy at the BMI event, I made my way to City Winery Nashville, a beloved venue known for its warm ambiance and incredible acoustics. There, the night truly came alive with performances from some Americana legends.

Mary Gauthier captivated the audience with her poignant storytelling and soulful voice, leaving everyone in awe of her songwriting prowess. Next up was Emmylou Harris, whose timeless classics resonated through the venue, reminding us all why she remains a cornerstone of American music. The evening also featured Lori McKenna, whose heartfelt lyrics and magnetic stage presence left a lasting impression, and the ever-charismatic Steve Poltz, whose engaging performance had the crowd laughing and singing along.

Eager to catch even more talent, I ventured downstairs to see Jordi Langelaan and his band. My interest was piqued after a delightful encounter with Jordi in the elevator; his warmth and enthusiasm were infectious. I’m glad I made the detour, as the band delivered an energetic set that showcased their impressive musicianship.

However, my whirlwind evening began with a bit of a challenge: I had just flown in and, unfortunately, missed some acts I had hoped to see. As my stomach growled in protest, I was met with kindness from the City Winery staff. They graciously shared some delicious pizza with me, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Their hospitality added an extra layer of warmth to an already wonderful night.

As Night 1 of AMERICANAFEST 2024 came to a close, it was clear that this year’s festival was off to an incredible start. With a lineup like this, the days ahead promise even more unforgettable moments. Stay tuned for what’s next!
