Celtics vs 76ers (NBA) – Wednesday 3/20 @ 7:00pm ET on ESPN
We are just over 3 weeks away from the end of the NBA Regular season, and as there become less and less games on the schedule, they become more and more meaningful. Despite being ahead of them in the standings, the 76ers have struggled with the Celtics this year, they’ve faced off three times, and the Sixers have lost all three – one in OT and one by just 3 points. They matchup for one last regular season game on Wednesday in Philly.

Lightning vs Capitals (NHL) – Wednesday 3/20 @ 7:30pm ET on NBCSN
Only three President’s Trophy winners have accumulated 120 points or more this century, and the Tapa Bay Lightning only need to win 3 of their next 10 games to join that illustrious group. One of their toughest matchups remaining on their schedule is in DC against the defending champs on Wednesday, who enter the week tied with the Islanders for a share of the lead in the Metropolitan Division.

#12 Murray State vs #5 Marquette (NCAAM) – Thursday 3/21 @ 4:30pm ET on TBS
The Selection Committee did us all a favor with this one. A first round matchup between the two leading scorers in the tournament – the Racers’ Ja Morant (24.6 PPG) and Golden Eagles’ Markus Howard (25.0 PPG). Morant was electric in the OVC Tournament Championship game, scoring 36 points against Belmont. Howard momentarily left the game after injuring his wrist in the Big East Tournament, but all signs point to him being at full strength for this scorer’s duel.

Ecuador vs USA (Soccer Friendly) – Thursday 3/21 @ 8:00pm ET on ESPN2
New USMNT manager Gregg Berhalter is 2-0 since taking over last December. On Thursday, the Yanks continue the evaluation process in an international friendly against Ecuador. The 24 player roster has been announced and features MLS stars like Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders) and Michael Bradley (Toronto FC) as well as Americans playing abroad like Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund) and Deandre Yedlin (Newcastle United).

#16 Gardner-Webb vs #1 Virgina (NCAAM) – Friday 3/22 @ 3:10pm ET on TruTV
It’s not likely that a #16 seed beats a #1 seed, but its not impossible. Last year, the University of Maryland, Baltimore County proved that as they became the first ever 16 seed to shock the world and bust countless brackets by beating a 1 seed (and the #1 overall seed, no less). The team who lost to the UMBC Retrievers? The Virginia Cavaliers. The Hoos look to vanquish some demons in this year’s tournament.
