June 22, 2023, Palm Springs, CA – The Palm Springs Cultural Center is pleased to announce two exciting summer programs featuring some of the most beloved movie musicals of all time! The first, “Broadway to the BIG SCREEN and Back” features films that made it BIG on Broadway before they made their way to the movies (or vice versa).
You can see them on the biggest screen in the valley (and stay cool while enjoying hot buttered popcorn and your favorite beverage) every Saturday at 4pm, starting July 1st and continuing through September 16th.

Our second summer program will have you dancing (and singing) in your seats (or in the aisles)! That’s right! Summer Sing-Alongs with the Palm Springs Gay Mens Chorus are back every Sunday afternoon at 3pm with the timeless Movie Musicals that everyone loves and loves to sing along with while watching them in all their technicolor glory on the BIG screen.
This year, we’ve got the most amazing line-up you’ve ever seen, including July 2 – GUYS AND DOLLS, July 9 – MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, July 16 – ON THE TOWN, July 23 – ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, July 30 – MY FAIR LADY, Aug 6 – SINGING IN THE RAIN, Aug 13 – HELLO DOLLY, Aug 20 – KISS ME KATE, Aug 27 – SHOWBOAT, Sept 3 – HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, Sept 10 – CAMELOT and Sept 17 – THE MUSIC MAN. Each screening includes a special introduction to the film. Find out secret stories you may have never heard of. Hear all about the people who became stars because of their roles in these films (or should have…maybe could have) and the deals the studios made to make the films. There’s a story (or several) to every one of these beloved musicals, and we’ve got the inside track on all of them!
Our annual summer sing along wouldn’t be complete without our sing-out-loud songleaders, The Palm Springs Gay Mens Chorus. Each summer they warm up the crowd fearlessly tackling the songs with their diverse musical talents and encouraging the choir member in all of us to SING IT- GURL!
Since 1999, PSGMC has given back to its community through anti-bullying grants, collecting household items for those less fortunate, and singing at Desert AIDS Walk and the opening of the LGBT Community Center. In addition, the chorus has performed for PS Pride, Cathedral City LGBT Days, and Arenas Halloween Street Party. In November 2016, PSGMC was recognized as the Organization of the Year by Palm Springs Pride. Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus continues to be, A Chorus Like No Other!
