Tell us about your modeling career.
The foundation of my modeling career is fueled by breaking mental and social barriers. I love what I do and more importantly, I love the person I become while shooting. The second the camera hits, I dismiss all of my insecurities and a strong, confident woman appears. I’ve transitioned from a girl covered in severe eczema breakouts from head to toe, to seeing myself on multiple billboards globally. You never know how or when your life will turn around, I consider every opportunity a blessing.
Do you have favorite campaigns?
I like to rank my “favorite” campaigns by energy. Amongst many, I would like to highlight the AARA by Sana catalogue campaign and the Ladies Nation x Rutvik Katuri x Gladys Magazine Campaign. Over the years, I’ve had the luxury of working with so many talented individuals around the world- but I have to admit, my “favorite“ campaigns are the ones where I’ve built meaningful long-term relationships and partnerships, in addition to creating something beautiful.
You have an impressive social media following. What does it take to keep people engaged in social media?
To keep people engaged; you have to bring something different to the table (literally). As much as people love niches, they want to see it all. If you go on a trip, they want to be there with you (virtually). If you get a PR package, they want to unbox it with you. If you had an issue, they want to know how you solved it. If you cook something yummy, they want to know your recipes. Making my love for the Cryptocurrency market public has certainly helped as well. I’ve been building my platform for years and I truly appreciate how many people have stuck around to watch me grow. I also try to respond to every DM and question from my followers too (the respectful ones anyway LOL!).
You recently curated and published the Global Female Empowerment Project, “She Wants To Move.” What led you to this project?
To be perfectly honest, I dove into this passion project in the midst of despair. Despite having countless blessings, in one year I lost a handful of outstanding people back to back. It was so painful knowing that I didn’t even have a chance to say “goodbye”. I had learned my lesson from a previous series of unfortunate events, and this time, I wanted to express my emotions through a creative outlet rather than a destructive one. Throughout my whole journey, I kept the intention of making my loved ones proud.
Late one night, I decided to challenge myself and experiment with the concept of an inclusive book, created by crowdsourcing input from complete strangers to create something beautiful. This project is very important to me because it’s a gift to my younger self. These women really show that you really can be anything, no matter what the circumstances are. My motivation was to show little girls out there that they have no limits and if they are anything like any of these women, they are not alone.

What are your goals for the next 6-months?
For the next 6 months, my ultimate goal is to focus on my health and fitness. Thanks to the never-ending Canadian Lockdowns, I have taken the time to re-evaluate my situation. As much as I’d love to be traveling or shooting campaigns right now, I am so thankful to have this time to catch up with myself. For the first time in 5 years, I am in one place and I’d like to make my postpartum-comeback as bold as possible. In the interim. I plan to tone my body into getting back to my old endurance levels, so I’ll be more than able to tackle new projects in the near future.
You are also a technology enthusiast. Tell us about investing in Cryptocurrency. What trends are you seeing?
In regards to social trends, it has been mind-blowing watching people like Elon Musk test their influence. Cryptocurrency has been around for over a decade, and now, out of the blue, everyone suddenly holds coins (like DOGE) that were created as a joke.In addition to the current Cryptomarket bull run which is reminiscent of 2017, the NFT market has been booming. Back in 2017, when I first invested in NFTs, I witnessed digital cats being sold upwards of $20,000. Today, individuals, in particular the art world, have monetized the technology turning over hundreds of millions of dollars. I had fun investing in Digital Cats (Cryptokitties) but I feel the evolution of NFTs has led to a more serious use case for the creator economy. The current state of the NFT market reminds me of the wild west, like when Napster started file sharing, due to the trademark infringements, you can buy a Bart Simpson NFT image with a Supreme logo over his face whilst he’s wearing a Louis Vitton sweater. Law firms around the world can really monetize business by sending out lawsuits! But now, we are seeing a mature cycle of the NFT market where companies like droppTV are bringing structure to the market by taking a different approach and tokenizing music videos so the provenance of the NFTs being sold via the music video are owned by the creator (similar to the Napster vs. Apple Music era). droppTV is also bringing an experiential aspect to the NFT market, right now you purchase off EBay’esq platforms but there’s no experience involved in the transaction. I believe that innovative tech companies like these are the future.
What’s next for you?
There is no end to self-improvement. As of now, I am focusing on health and wellness goals. Last year, I was blessed with a son, Romario, who is now 7 months old. I want to be able to keep up with him 20 years from now and to do that, I need to prioritize living a healthier lifestyle. Simple habits like consistently working out give me a better chance of having a strong immune system and keep my mind, body, and soul healthy. How you look and feel in 20 years is based on the lifestyle decisions you make today.
Being an influencer and a “techie”, I’m always looking for the next innovation in the industry. Shopatainment is going to be an era-defining shift in how influencers and commerce are leveraged by brands in the next decade and beyond. I’m actively looking for investments in the space as well as influencer opportunities. If you’re early enough into certain trends, you can really cement yourself with a great revenue stream.
