The film will debut on all major VOD platforms August 13, following a theatrical roadshow expected to take the film Following its festival journey that saw the film pick up thirty awards around the world, North American distribution rights to writer/director/producer Mick Davis’ heartwarming family/music to ten or more markets around the US in early/mid-August. The Apple TV preorder link is HERE.

Directed by Mick Davis, the director of MODIGLIANI and WALDEN, the film stars Natasha Wilson (Once Upon a Time, Commander in Chief, Huff); Logan Arditty (STAY OUT, PROGENY: CAMP PATHWAY); Sydney Bullock (Stranger Things, Dynasty, Goosebumps); Tim Hazelip; Miljenko Matijevic (SteelHeart); (Robby Krieger (The Doors); Eric Roberts (THE DARK KNIGHT, THE EXPENDABLES, Entourage) and Jimi Petulla (The Fall of America and the Western World, Reversal, All the Kings Men).

Diving deep into the heart of resilience and love, TRUST IN LOVE—based on a true story—is a film that promises to move and inspire viewers. Mickey Ferrara (Jimi Petulla) teeters at life’s crossroads: his record producing career is going down the tubes, his estranged wife wants a divorce, and his son is struggling with his sexuality. His only wingman is his beach bum brother Bobby (Tim Hazelip). Although plunged into adversity, Mickey is above all else a warrior and he’s poised to make a valiant stand, get in the trenches, and “trust in love” to try to keep his family together and maybe—just maybe—make one more good record.

Mick Davis is a Scottish-born, Los Angeles-based writer, director, and producer who has been making films for the past 30 years. As a teenager, he befriended legendary singer Rod Stewart, who encouraged him to move to Hollywood and begin his career in entertainment. Davis has written, developed, and directed films and television shows starring Pierce Brosnan, Mickey Rourke, Richard Harris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Amanda Plummer, Ian Holm, Andy García, Richard E. Grant, John Cleese, Emile Hirsch, Shane West, and more. Jimi Petulla is an American actor, writer, producer, and entertainment industry entrepreneur. He began his career as a radio DJ, which led to him teaching broadcasting courses and eventually founding the media education companies Radio Connection, Recording Connection, and Film Connection. Petulla has written, produced, and starred in three feature films, with more to come from his production company Petulla Pictures.

“Gravitas is proud to be bringing TRUST IN LOVE to both theaters and homes this August,” said Gravitas Senior Vice President of Acquisitions & Operations Bill Guentzler. “There couldn’t be a better movie for late summer—Malibu, music and more—the cast and team behind the film have created a heartwarming family dramedy with twists, tension, and tenderness.

We’re certain audiences will share our enthusiasm for this film.”

Guentzler negotiated the deal on behalf of Gravitas Ventures with producers Jon Sheinberg and Matt Feige of SFO Entertainment along with lawyer Evan Kraus of Eisner LLP.
